This Little Pied Cormorant was resting in between a very successful diving for breakfast. We saw this bird and another for much of the morning and with several fairly large fish! Geelong Waterfront near Cunningham Pier HWW :))
This common wood pigeon (columba palumbus) had just expended a lot of energy in mating with its partner - time for a rest!!! Photographed in Great Horwood, Buckinghamshire, England.
A snakebird (anhinga anhinga) resting between dives on a tree stump protruding from the San Juan River, in Nicaragua.
A hammock showed up one day on the rivers edge, it was there about a week and then disappeared just as quick. Never saw it occupied, but it would have been a great place to rest a few.
Etta is doing plenty of resting after having some lumps removed. The coat is an attempt to stop her licking the wounds.
Letting my '92 Wrangler cool down a bit while I stretch my legs and capture some photons.
It's not that pretty anymore; this pic was taken shortly after I bought it about 12 years ago. It's considerably dirtier now, and the cover isn't as tight.

Before sunset we stayed to shot a raptor that we particularly liked. We worry on our way back to find the entry to the camp closed ! A few kilometers only from our destination and near a waterhole where apparently he just drink in, a cheetah was showing off before some admirers. At first lying on the ground, the animal roll sideways, seeming very calm, enjoying himself, ignoring us. Then he stand up and left us without hurry, coming back a few times, one or two bushes away, letting us admiring his feline beauty before leaving ...The wildlife photographer knows well this intense emotion which we never tires when wild nature offers us such a gift!

Not the normal place that I would see a Blue Heron. He is normally in one of the ponds not 100 feet from where he is now. He must be catching a few ZZZ's before he starts his food hunt again. The focus these birds have while they hunt is amazing.
My mother passed away after a long illness. Have not had much time for photography.
I'll get caught up with everyone at some point.
Thanks for stopping by.
É impressionante o fim do dia no que resta do inverno no Brasil.
At Rest
Where the bluebell carpet lies
Under green and silver trees,
Yellow primrose clusters guard
The place that no one sees.
Echoes of a gentler age
Now remote from days and hours,
This is where I visit you
Resting fragranced by the flowers.
Where the woodland hides your grave
Sunlit, stirring in the breeze,
Silver ash watch over you
As you rest among the trees.

A cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) rests in the shade of the large cheetah habitat at the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center near Glen Rose Texas.
Fossil Rim has played an important role in the conservation of cheetahs since 1986 when the first litter of babies was born. As of 2018, more than 195 cubs have been born in their Cheetah Breeding Program. Breeding success has been historically difficult in the captive population.
Fossil Rim has diligently worked to provide a comfortable, stimulating living environment, multiple mate choices (especially important for cheetah females), a varied diet, large enclosures and the least amount of stress possible. Fossil Rim has two cheetah areas that combined can house about 25 cats. This photo was taken on the edge of one of those enclosures.

Happy Easter !
Finding a suitable option for today proved to be a difficult task. So resting is what I’ve come up with. Where will you find rest this Easter Sunday?

This male Orange Tip was busy flying around when he decided to settle, this was my chance to grab a few shots before he took to the wing again.
