My earlier prediction about Respect being a spent political force were correct - at the May 2010 General Election the party lost Bethnal Green & Bow to Labour (it was Labour's only gain of the election), George Galloway failed to take Poplar & Limehouse, and Respect only kept one seat on Tower Hamlets Council. A far cry from 2005 when Respect won Bethnal Green & Bow and had their sights on taking the Council in 2006.

Tareferos sin beneficios
Con respecto a éste encuentro Elterritorio dialogó con el secretario General del Sindicato de Tareferos de Jardín América (Sitaja), Antenor Alvez, quien aseguró que “hace años que vengo peleando por esto y la oportunidad se da una vez en la vida y por eso, no tenemos que perder esta oportunidad”.
También indicó que “Uatre siempre fue el representante de los tareferos, pero los tareferos nunca tuvieron beneficios. Hoy estamos peleando por eso, para que el tarefero que sufre tenga sus beneficios” agregó Alvez.
El dirigente consideró que “todos saben lo que pasa, pero hay que plantear las cosas porque sino todo pasan por alto, todo pasa por lindo y compañero por acá y compañero por allá, pero no pasa nada, los tareferos seguimos igual” dijo.
Antenor Alvez sostuvo que cada vez que se habla de la yerba “se habla de todo menos de los tareferos. No estamos en contra de los colonos, queremos que los colonos chicos puedan hacer su yerba con los trabajadores en blanco, pero que los ayude la Nación, que el colono pague sólo al tarefero”.

Que la forme « égards » au contraire dépasse la forme « valeur ».

Con apoyo de parlamentarios DC, Diputados UDI exigen disculpas a gobierno cubano por hostigamiento a miembros de la Cámara Baja
A través de un proyecto de resolución aprobado por la Cámara de Diputados, legisladores de ambos partidos pidieron al gobierno adoptar medidas respecto de la situación que afectó a Jaime Bellolio y Miguel Ángel Calisto, luego que Cuba declara que no eran bienvenidos.
Con apoyo de un grupo de parlamentarios de la Democracia Cristiana, la Bancada de Diputados de la UDI presentó un proyecto de resolución a través del cual se pide al gobierno de Chile que instruya al Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores para exigir disculpas por parte de Cuba debido al hostigamiento que sufrieron dos miembros de la Cámara Baja.
Luego que el gobierno cubano declara que los parlamentarios Jaime Bellolio (UDI) y Miguel Ángel Calisto (DC) no eran bienvenidos en la isla, el diputado gremialista e integrante de la Comisión de Derechos Humanos, Gustavo Sanhueza, calificó dicha situación como “arbitraria” y “antidemocrática”.
Justamente, el texto aprobado por la Sala de la Cámara Baja señala: “Exigimos al gobierno de Cuba disculpas por la arbitraria decisión de negar la entrada y expulsar de Cuba a los parlamentarios Bellolio y Calisto, y que modifique esta política antidemocrática de persecución a dirigentes políticos disidentes y parlamentarios de otros países que buscan la paz, el respeto a los Derechos Humanos y el restablecimiento de la democracia en ese país”.
Asimismo, el proyecto de resolución solicita manifestar el respaldo del gobierno de Chile a la situación vivida por los parlamentarios y expresar su apoyo a los grupos disidentes cubanos que luchan día a día para que en Cuba reine la democracia y el estado de derecho.
“También queremos ver cuál va a ser la postura de la Cámara de Diputados respecto de los temas de violaciones a los DD.HH., porque existe un discurso basado en el pasado, siendo que en la actualidad hay muchos países en que hay violaciones a los DD.HH. y como país debemos hacernos partícipes para que esas situaciones no sigan ocurriendo”, finalizó el diputado Sanhueza.

You said; You are concerned about Youths congregating and behaving anti-socially on the streets, misuse of off road bikes and burglary in the area.
As a result; Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team, Manchester City Council, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, and Northwards Housing held a Respect Action Week between 10th – 14th August 2009.
During the Week;
•A multi-agency team litter picked Cooper Lane Park and the surrounding streets
•Community Payback teams worked at Blackley Cricket Club
•Extra Foot patrols were carried out in your area during the evenings
•Youth Contact Team Officers targeted Outreach work on Friday until 9pm
•A Home Watch recruitment meeting was held at St Paul’s Church where residents received free safety devices, information and packs about the scheme
•Licensing Enforcement & Environmental Enforcement Officers visited and checked a number of shops in the area
We will continue to combat the issues that are of most importance to you. We have started Operation Sodium to tackle off road bikes nuisance in the area.
