Abstract
When contemplating modern art and aesthetics through models of in/compatibility, the motifs of noise and silence seem to emerge by default. One way to address the ”in/compatibility” theme, would be, then, to trace the roots of these motifs from both a historical and aesthetic-theoretical perspective.

Members of the Continuum of Resource Education (CORE) Hawaii's CO/XO Leadership Continuum came together at Commander Submarine Force U.S. Pacific Fleet, Rear Adm. Frank Caldwell's residence on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH) to discuss emergency preparedness and crisis management, Nov. 8. More than 50 Navy spouses in leadership positions in CORE attended the event and the workshops are held to help them meet the challenges they should face in their demanding positions. On hand were guest speakers Guy Hagi, Hawaii News Now weather anchor, and Dan Dubois, Emergency Management Officer for JBPHH, to educate and inform the spouses on meteorological conditions, storms, emergency planning, preparations and procedures. Statement of Significance (as of designation - December 19, 1960):
Fort Snelling (begun in 1820) was the first American fort in modern Minnesota, an important post on the edge of European-American settlement in the Old Northwest; additionally, it played a significant role in the transformation of the US Army from a small frontier force to that of a major modern army. The fort expanded several times, one of the largest expansions dating from the 1880s to the early 1900s and dubbed "New Fort Snelling". It was at that time (after the Civil War), that Fort Snelling served as the headquarters and supply base for the Department of Dakota. There was another huge development at the Fort during WWII when the fort processed over 300,000 inductees and trained soldiers, though that development is now occupied by the Minneapolis airport.
Santa Cruz County is home to two new Family Resource Centers that are designed to help families with children aged 0-5 prepare their children for Kindergarten. The Family Resource Center Program is funded by First Things First (www.azftf.gov), a statewide organization dedicated to ensuring that all Arizona’s children enter school healthy and ready to succeed. The program is administered by the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension Santa Cruz County who subcontracts with Mariposa Community Health Center and Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District #35 to operate the centers in Nogales and Rio Rico, respectively. The centers offer more than twenty free on-going classes and activities for parents and children. Below is a sample of what the centers have to offer.
