There are 334 large inflated egg-shaped lights floating on the Dragonfly Lake at Gardens by the Bay. When people touch the oval structures perched on the lake's boardwalk, the lights change colours and each egg emits a musical note depending on the colour it's depicting. The floating eggs - a work entitled Autonomous Resonating Life on the Water and Resonating Trees - is one of seven interactive exhibits at Gardens by the Bay. 32080
Striking and unmistakable in most of range; the only sapsucker in eastern North America. Long, solid white wing patch helps distinguish it from Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers. Adult male has red cap and throat; females are similar but with white throat; juveniles are messy brownish-gray overall. The namesake yellow belly can be difficult to see and is sometimes almost absent. Often looks disheveled, especially in fall and winter. Compare with the extremely similar Red-naped Sapsucker, which barely overlaps in range. Note male Yellow-bellied has complete black border around red throat patch, and the white markings on the back are more extensive and messy. Occurs in almost any wooded habitat, breeding in the boreal forest across Canada and wintering as far south as Costa Rica. Like other sapsuckers, drills rows of sap wells into tree bark. Listen for irregular drumming (like morse code) and various nasal calls. (eBird)
Our first sapsucker of the year! He had found on old utility pole that resonated beautifully and was drumming up a storm. Three other sapsuckers were trying to compete but he had the best sound box :)

So many beautiful flowers lined the cycle path between Padstow and Bodmin in Cornwall. What still resonates with me is the sweetest, loveliest scent all the way!
A rare scene of stillness in the Magallanes y la Antartica, Chilena Region of Chile. Patagonia is known for it's majestic splendor but definitely not it's moments of silence and stillness. Even in this silence I felt the chaos radiating from the rising sun and colliding with the earth and misty fluctuating clouds high in the sky. A crooked staff lay prone in the water beckoning me to cast spells, so I decided to use it's shape to embrace the scene. I sort of felt like a sorcerer casting a spell of reflection and stillness this day. It was a quiet moment.
Taken September 30, 2015. That date will always resonate with me as Moraine left me speechless that day.

Summer Recollections from the Garland of life on an Autumn evening with a wistful yearning ...
Crepuscular Charm gently resonated echoes as daylight faded in an alley in Folegandros.Lush growth of branches cast shades ; tangled shadows were dancing on the stage of a white wall and in the distance a wavering blaze of light was flaring in the silence of the empty alley ...
Now,all is a memory page in the book of life ; each page retains its trove of recollections,as I'm leafing through, there they stand, ranging like figures from a dream, never forgotten ...
Crepuscular spell and faint sparks in Folegandros,in an alley in Hora, and a story from the harp of memory's strings,as wild, forceful winds are battering the Greek islands now ...
Inside the Castle of Chora ...
Just to say Good Evening my Flickr friends & thank you for all your visits & pink ☆s ♥ ♥
From Houstonia Magazine: Painted in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, Curtain Mural Houston in Midtown depicts how strong we are when Houstonians unite. In the mural, a group of neighbors is literally pulling back a stormy, gray curtain to reveal the Houston skyline bathed in the pink, yellow, and purple rays of a setting sun that stretches from the tops of the buildings out over the nearby bayou. Dotting the expanse is a flock of white doves, a universal symbol of peace. The best part about this mural? It not only immortalizes a moment that resonates with Houstonians young and old, it is populated by images of real Houstonians. Street artist Emily Ding, who was brought on to paint this commissioned design, featured real Midtown residents on the wall. The long-haired man lives in the building the mural is painted on, while the man in the bandana was cutting the grass on the days Ding was painting. The adorable bandana-wearing dog, Leon, lives across the street from the mural with his beanie-wearing owner, who also makes an appearance.

′′ True holiness is not to strive to live without the creatures. It consists of using the things of this world to accomplish the will of God. It consists of using God's creation in such a way that everything we touch, see, use and love gives God new glory. Being holy means passing through the world harvesting fruit for the sky, from each tree, and collecting the glory of God in each field.
The Holy One is the one who is in touch with God in every way possible and in every direction possible. He is united with God in the depths of his own being. See and touch God in everything and everyone who encircles Him. Everywhere you go, the world sounds and resonates (albeit silently) with the deep and pure harmonies of God's glory."

“SOFT CORE” — A Black & White Photography Exhibition by Nara Ghost
The Gild Gallery · May 9th at 1 PM SLT
On May 9th at 1 PM SLT, The Gild Gallery opens its doors to SOFT CORE, a black and white photography exhibition by the elusive Nara Ghost. Guests are invited to attend in black and white attire, reflecting the minimalist elegance of the artist’s vision.
In the delicate interplay of light and shadow, stories unfold without words.
Known for curating work that invites emotion and contemplation, The Gild Gallery presents a collection that feels both intimate and enigmatic.
SOFT CORE offers a quiet invitation into moments suspended between clarity and obscurity - images that hold space for reflection, suggestion, and the subtle power of what remains unsaid.
Each photograph captures something fleeting: the trace of a thought, a passing feeling, a half-remembered dream. With a mysterious lens and a sensitivity to tone and form, Nara draws the viewer into a world that resists definition yet resonates with quiet familiarity.
The Gild becomes, for this exhibition, a space not for answers, but for atmosphere - for sensing rather than knowing.
Step softly. The mystery isn’t here to be solved - it’s here to be felt

The spectacular Boldt Castel is a testament to the tragic love story that began in the late 19th century between the millionaire George C. Boldt, a prominent hotelier and proprietor of the famous Waldorf Asteria Hotel in New York, and Louise Augusta Kehrer known for her grace and beauty. She was the light of George’s life, and he credited her for much of his success. The dream and grander of the Rhineland-style of Boldt Castle began in 1900 in Alexandria Bay, on picturesque Heart Island, nestled in the calm waters of the St. Lawrence River in the Thousand Islands area of New York State.
It was to be a gift to Louise, a symbol of his undying love and devotion. George spared no expenses with the finest architectural details of the six story, 120 luxurious room castle, complete with tunnels, Italian gardens, playhouse and dove-cote. However, the love story took a sorrowful turn in 1904 when Louise tragically died due to heart failure at age 42. Her sudden death left George devastated and he immediately stopped the project; he never returned to the island. The fairytale castle was abandoned for 73 years. In 1977, the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority acquired the property and started important restoration efforts. Today, it is a major tourist attraction for visitors from around the world. Their love, though marked by sadness, continues to resonate through the halls and towers of Boldt Castle, capturing the hearts of all who visit.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

... the wood chip pile — which has this week grown taller than the barn in which Rob's tractors are kept
talking about growing, a tad over 6 months old (wow, that's flown by) Sherman is now way bigger than his mum, and will definitely be bigger than his dad, Simba, before his first birthday.
Supremely calm and assured, he's the only pup that doesn't squabble or play fight for his place in the pack. No need.
...one other thing. Last night I walked into Rob's kitchen to fill up the washing up bowl I use for the adult dogs' water, and Simba — knowing it was food time — began to bark. The empty bowl resonated like a sub-bass speaker in my hand. Sherman's bark is already approaching Simba's which — unfortunately for me ;-) — he reserves for protection of the pack at night when he hears something new from the open door of Rob's Kitchen.
James' songs have been resonating in my head and heart since more than 30 years, and have been an essential part of the soundtrack of my life. Thank you very much for all. From the 2017 archive - a lonely berg in the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, South East Iceland.
This was my third visit to the lagoon and on a day with terrible weather and very poor visibility and frequent rain. We came away with only a few frames but it didn't matter, the place just resonates with those who visit.

In Santillana del Mar, Spain, the medieval architecture unfolds like a captivating tale etched in stone. The scene transports visitors to a bygone era, where the hands of skilled craftsmen meticulously shaped the rugged, time-worn stones into architectural masterpieces. The cobblestone streets wind through a labyrinth of buildings that stand as silent witnesses to centuries of history.
The medieval structures, characterized by their sturdy stone facades, feature a harmonious blend of Romanesque and Gothic elements. Massive arches, adorned with intricate carvings and reliefs, greet onlookers with a sense of grandeur. The play of light and shadow on the weathered surfaces adds depth to the facades, highlighting the craftsmanship that has withstood the test of time.
Narrow alleys weave through the medieval quarter, revealing hidden courtyards and charming plazas. The irregular layout of the buildings, seemingly huddled together, creates an intimate atmosphere, inviting visitors to step back in time. Towering spires and turrets punctuate the skyline, casting an imposing silhouette against the backdrop of the Cantabrian landscape.
As one explores the streets, medieval churches emerge as architectural jewels. The rhythmic patterns of the stone masonry, the intricate detailing of religious motifs, and the solemnity of the interiors evoke a sense of reverence. These sacred structures, with their centuries-old walls, resonate with the echoes of prayers and ceremonies long past.
In Santillana del Mar, the medieval architecture serves as a living testament to the resilience of a bygone era. Each stone, weathered by the passage of time, whispers stories of knights, merchants, and ordinary folk who once walked these streets. The town stands as a tangible link between the present and the medieval past, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of history woven into its stone walls.

I See What You Mean, also known as the "Big Blue Bear", is a 40-foot-tall sculpture of a blue bear by Lawrence Argent, installed outside the Colorado Convention Center, in Denver. The piece was immediately popular with both the public and art community.
Installed in 2005, I See What You Mean was installed outside of the Colorado Convention Center as a contribution to The Denver Public Art Program. Sculpted by artist Lawrence Argent, the structure is clad in polymer-concrete and depicts an American black bear standing on its hind legs, peering into the Convention Center's lobby.
Argent's decision to sculpt a bear was based on the wildlife native to the Rocky Mountains. The black bear is the only species of bear currently found in the mountain range and is seen by many as a symbol of the region. Argent was inspired specifically by a newspaper photo of a bear peering through someone's window, which he stated, "resonated with [him]."
The blue color, which has piqued the interest of tourists and Denver citizens alike, was not Argent's original intent. The plan was for the bear to reflect natural colors of the region, such as sandstone, but a mockup of the sculpture was printed in blue, and he felt that it was more striking than the original.
