Emmy is my rescued dog who also rescued me. She is my constant companion in this troubling but also beautiful world.

All creatures great and small,

All things wise and wonderful,

The Lord God made them all."

~ Cecil Frances Alexander

This is Duckis. He was found by the shelter. When found, we figure he was hit by a car or abused. He had a long wound on his back maggots inside the wound. He has come a long ways but still has a ways to still go.

Be kind to animals.... Just saying.

Sometimes ya just gota post a picture of Tucker

I got a firmware update the other day and have been practicing with it. The update was for eye tracking to make it faster to detect and focus. The trick is to NOT watch the square and to JUST watch your subject to keep it in frame. I thought a black dark subject like my Boy here would be a good test. What do you think?

I had no idea she was drooling and blowing bubbles until I came in to look at the pictures. I took treats out with me so she would stay still.....I had to laugh, she was very still and well behaved as she salivated waiting for her treat! This is SO her! My little, eleven year old rescue dog. She bring so much joy to my life as all pets do.

My Daughters newly Adopted Rescue Dog Settling in Nicely She Has the most Gentle Affectionate Nature, . Like her Viking Name , A Lady

The snow we had last weekend seems to be staying now. It's been highs of about -15c for the past week. This is much earlier than usual for winter, but Aggie is embracing it.

Teddy is all about forbidden spaces. We keep him out of bedrooms as he tends to be a little thief, but he never misses an opportunity when presented. We’ve been redecorating a small bedroom and there is absolutely nothing in it of interest to Teddy. But this morning I opened the door for just a second - and got this….Looking seriously pleased with himself. He posed all over the room

Hello beautiful

Off with Runyon to Swift Run Dog Park (near the intersection of Platt and Ellsworth and across the street from Lillie Park). Pictures from the mild morning of Thursday January 12th, 2023.

That's my boy Bandit. He did let the old man get the toy so I could throw it for him. Our backyard.

Farmers fox Silver is a rescue dog. Eight years old.

This was another milestone for Agnes. After three years at the lake she finally went on the dock without freaking out. She was still super cautious and kept looking at us as if to say "Dogs like the dock. Am I dogging properly by being on the dock?"

She still has no desire to swim let alone jump off the dock. But after three years we're just happy that she's willing to hang out with us on the dock. She's still wearing her lead here in case she gets spooked and takes off, but the chances of that seem to be minimal at best now that she's figured out how to dog properly.

Here's Harbie just spotting some horses on the television! He was very alert after this shot!

Continuing on the theme of "how did my puppy get this big"?

This chair is apparently the best dog spot in the cabin. Perfectly situated next to a window with good squirrel viewing options. And often with a donut dog bed on it. The only problem is that it is not quite big enough for Fred.

'did he save me or did I save him?'

This is my rescue dog, Ella. Found as an abandoned pup tied to a bus-stop and then adopted by me in 2008. Now my loyal friend who makes every day better.

Photographed with a 1949 Meyer Primoplan. Simple conversion in Silver Efex Pro 2.

HMBT all !!

I adopted Mimi at our county animal shelter yesterday. She is 8 years old and very sweet. I'm sure there will be many more pictures of her to come. I'll be catching up more on Flickr as she settles in here. Spent a long time at the shelter yesterday, looking at all the dogs and then waiting to complete the adoption process. :-)

Bruno giving Aggie the ball pirate a good chase in the back yard. Even though Aggie had an extra two arms with hook hands to contend with, she was still faster than the big guy.

I had planned for a simple portrait of her in the cute pirate costume. But then this chase happened and I knew it had to be her project photo. No cropping done, they were just coming in hot and did a fly by me for the photo.

Aggie spooning Bruno. This is another alternate from her 52 weeks project shots. I'm cleaning up photo files from earlier in the year and bumped into this previously unposted gem.

Bruno doesn't often let NewPuppy cuddle him, but this time he agreed because the camera and cookies were involved.

iPhone doggie portrait, edited in Snapseed.

I've put my Happy Caturday photo shoot off until today - which as luck would have it - is a wet, drippy, soggy day. Uh Oh. I'm going to have to try and entice the cats outside with treats.

Beagle Extraordinaire

This is a bit of a recreation of a couple of images from about a year ago, both of which are linked in the comments. The first one is from April 28, 2024 and the second one is from June 9, 2024. Same dogs, same dog bed, but slightly different distribution of real estate.

If people would accept each other as they were, this world would be such a better place. Goes for humans toward their dogs too, so many get discarded because they are not "normal", whatever that means. Our crew is composed of mainly unusual little beings and this is precisely why we love them so much.

Happy pride month!

Hayley and Ryan came over with there dog Riley. Bandit and Riley hit it off and played with the frisbee.

Still from a video I found tonight.

Romanian Rescue Dog

Pictures of Runyon, our Catahoula Mix (and one or two of his neighborhood friends - Iggy the golden and Ripley the terrier). He loves playing with them on the golf course next to our house. Pictures taken on late Winter's mornings - Wednesday March 16th and Thursday March 17th in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Went snowshoeing with a friend and her two dogs. I'm in love with this little one!

I'd like you to meet my friend, Willis, who has been to visit a couple of times. I look forward to more visits as dogs are very important to me and we're not allowed to have pets in our condominium.

"Women's Best Friend"

You will find them full of love and fun - unless you are a fox, squirrel, cat or bird (especially seagulls)!

She was born in Ireland and was originally thought to be a labrador/collie cross - but our dog trainer thought she is a 'Heinz 57 Varieties' with some Lurcher and Staffie thrown in! Whatever she is, she is adorable!

She is now nine-and-a-quarter years old and as full of fun and energy as ever! Oh yes, she can also run like the wind and her trainer said she's the fastest dog he's ever seen except for a greyhound!

If you are looking for a rescue dog in the UK, please visit www.pupsneedinghomes.co.uk/ as they do such an outstanding job in rehoming unwanted dogs!

Aggie does have the best eyes. I love that she is now confident enough to stare directly into the camera.

Turkish rescue Dog

..turns 16 today 1.1.17. He's a "rescue" dog who was a very fearful dog to start but in old age has become very gentle and good with people - most of the time.: )

We’ve been taking our time allowing Echo and Teddy to accept each other. Today on our walk it became obvious that they were both ready to play. We walked them into the back yard, removed their leashes and kept our fingers crossed that we read the signals right. They have been playing ever since

This is Aggie, in all of her Aggieness. She has the sweetest eyes, and her ears are such a barometer for her emotions. Such a tender pup.
