Oh, if those shoes could talk...
Ladies, excuse my naiveté but, one wears this particular footwear out when one is seeking a fun time, attention of the opposite sex and an accent to an already existing figure, highlighting the more lengthy parts... usually (but not always!) with alcohol and the devil's music involved, so unless this is the chosen accessory for doing the vacuuming around the house, or planting begonias out in the garden, there is probably a tale or two involved here, I would guess.
(Of note: I am going to tag this photo with "high heels"... hmmm... I wonder if it will attract more Flickr views... hmmm...)
Our Daily Challenge ~ Misused or Repurposed
This glass pot had a previous life as a candle holder. Now the candle has been used it makes a perfect container for pens and pencils etc.
Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. All comments and Faves are very much appreciated
A work of art in progress! The old mills are coming back to life. This mill is huge (photo doesn't show it). It is called Riverwalk Lofts--they offer studio, 1-2-3 bedrooms. The photos under amenities on their website Riverwalk Lofts are fabulous. Lawrence, MA
Embroidered hearts adorn this trio of plump little decorative pillows for a sweet, romantic accent on a bed, couch or chair.
I started with 100 percent cotton recycled denim which I harvested from old pants and washed with hot water and mild detergent yielding a soft, wonderful fabric for embroidery. Each pillow features a pink cotton heart that has been appliqued onto the front, and the edges have been treated to prevent fraying. I then embellished each heart with an edging and an ornamental design inspired by tattoos - a thorny, intertwining vine motif. I used brightly colored cotton embroidery floss to create each design and all the stitching was done by hand except the seaming of the pillow edges which I did on a sewing machine. Blanket stitch and split stitch are the primary embroidery techniques used.
The pillows are stuffed with polyfill stuffing - they are plump and soft!
Dimensions: Each pillow measures 5.5 x 5.5 inches (139.7mm x 139.7mm)

Getty Avenue Yard Paterson N.J. January 1975. I know that it served as a Stillwell Coach when built but will leave it up to the people who know to determine its exact purpose now. My guess is track gang kitchen car or camp car. What are all those holes for above the windows? Notice the TV antenna on the right side. This is part of the vintage treasure repurposed into a planter series I featured on my blog www.poetichome.com
This is the former railway station at Skibbereen in the west of County Cork, Ireland. A surprising amount of railway infrastructure survives - including a fine water tower dating from 1905 - when you consider that the line here closed on 1st April 1961. The station building, shown in this view, is now (2025) home to a fresh fish supplier.
The railway came to Skibbereen on 23rd July 1877 and therefore had a working life of just eighty-four years.
Photograph made on Thursday 5th September 2024.
A grain silo that was recently repurposed as an office complex in Schoen place along the Erie canal in Pittsford NY.
Shot taken from parking lot shared with another repurposed structure, the Village Coal Tower restaurant (since 1976).
You can see the silo in R.I.T.'s Big Shot #24. At the time the renovation was in progress and only some of window cutouts can be seen in the concrete tower.
#4482 - 2020 Day 99: Was once bedroom, then usually Carolyn's therapy room. Now, in times of isolation, it is our yoga studio ...
I have to stop and check out every converted bus I see now. This Thomas rear engine was in the parking lot.
No mosquitos breeding in this birdbath. A birdbath repurposed as a small succulent garden. This image was taken using the Lensbaby Twist optic.
I styled repurposed vintage elements into spooky Halloween decor ideas....as blogged about on www.PoeticHome.com
I spent just about the whole weekend in the yard - cleaning and gardening. Trimmed my lilac bush for 2 hours yesterday (it now looks like this again). Clutching trimmers that long means every muscle in my hands hurt bad.
This cooler was Jeff's and he was going to toss it when he moved here (bottom is rusty and leaks) but I told him I wanted it. Good thing too - it's a cute planter for some begonias.
Pieced entirely of 2nd hand dress shirts and a piece of leftover quilt batting from another project.
Donated to the silent auction at the annual fundraiser for our local creative arts center.
Purchased by a local woman for her grandbaby boy.
The long, narrow spaces were the most challenging! I split some photos into two, three or four parts for a little twist.
A peek into my home and my favorite vintage treasures...this vintage card catalog was repurposed into a happy bookshelf (and plant holder).
(I'm catching up with uploading as I had to spend the last two months trying to remember my Flickr login info!)
LTEX works on locomotives at this facility in McDonald, Ohio, that was once used by a steel mill railroad.
The first of three patchwork jean scarves I am making for my nephews for Christmas. They are lined with fleece, very soft and warm. My son really likes the pocket.
For 52 Weeks for Dogs -- 33/52
For the Daily Dog Challenge -- 8/18 "Mother Nature"
This weekend was supposed to be an adventure that involved Rose and me going to Floatzilla with my husband. We found a dog sitter for Fable and Rose was one happy girl. There was a chance of rain and storms, but we went anyway. As we pulled up and went to the check in booth, they announced that a serious storm cell was five minutes out and for everyone to get out of the water. At least we didn't have any gear unloaded. If there's one thing Rose doesn't like, it's a thunderstorm, but she handled it really well. We never got the kayaks out, but she got a day with just us and that made her a happy girl. Of course today, the weather was perfect.
You can read more about Rose at TalesAndTails.com.
An old 1913 schoolhouse in rural Warren County, Ohio has a new purpose in life. These days it is the "Plain Folk Cafe". I'll bet the beer atmosphere are outstanding.

What do you do with an old school bus? Well at Hillbilly Hotsdogs outside of Huntingdon, Cabell County, WV you make it the platform for outside eating.
Did you know the New York and Greenwood Lake Railway used to serve much of the North Jersey area years ago? Based in Passaic NJ, freight and passenger service would be provided along the now defunct Pompton Line. The line used to branch off the current Montclair Boonton Line in Wayne, intersect the NYSW at Pompton Junction, and continue up to Greenwood Lake and Ringwood NJ. All thats left is some trackage where the Totowa Industrial track is, at Pompton Junction where the NYSW meets the Tilcon quarry, and the rest is just old right of way. Here the equipment is officially moved out of NJ via an NYSW move from PC yard in Saddle Brook to Lackawaxen, PA. Two CSX geeps bring the entire deadline of engines, cars and coaches past the old Erie Railroad station in Port Jervis, NY. Both the station and equipment have now been repurposed, with the station renovated and housing a few local shops for the town center, and the equipment being soon used for the Operation Toy Train organization. There is also word that the turntable and equipment in Port Jervis will be turned into an official museum.
