A closeup of some of the individual blossoms on a very full Spiraea vanhouttei, or bridal-wreath, that grows along my mother's driveway. It has particular meaning for her, because it always blooms in mid-May, in time for her anniversary. One photo a day.(137/366) -- May 16, 2020

"Spiraea × vanhouttei, called Vanhoutte spirea or bridalwreath, is a vase-shaped, deciduous shrub with branching that arches gracefully toward the ground. It is a hybrid cross between S. trilobata x S. cantoniensis. It typically grows 5-8' tall with a spread to 7-10' wide."

CRAZY TUESDAY ---Repetition

Note: The complete stamp sheet has one additional vertical row for a total of 16 stamps.

I choose this subject, "repeated Star Wars characters", for the theme "Repeating Object" of the group "Crazy Tuesday".

I had a lot of fun for two reasons:

1) I made another ultrawide macro experiment (this time with an extension tube of 5mm): it is really stimulating.

2) More importantly, my son cooperated in some way... in the end he exchanged tho bottom parts of the first and the third character, obtaining two hybrid jedi-sith! ;-)

Have a great Crazy Tuesday, my dear Flickr friends. ;-)

Once again playing with spoons to get a close up shot. This time for Crazy Tuesday theme repeating object. It was great fun to get the amazing output these humble spoons generate.

Three lines of prayer beads. These are particularly attractive being made in natural stone. I love the colours and banding in them.

Pawns.

I thought of publishing one of my in-camera stacking repeated images thingies for the Crazy Tuesday group's Repeating Object theme.

Then I thought I was probably stretching things too far, and was in danger of incurring the admins' ire. I've done that before (and I have to say this group's admins have a very gentle wrath :) ), and it's an experience I don't want to repeat - for their sakes as much as mine.

So this is a repeat of a subject first published a month or so ago, but not a repeated image or even a repeated point of view. Repeated focus perhaps...

I liked the repeating pawns so much I wanted to repeat the experience of sharing them, but I hasten to repeat that I don't normally like repeating things like that.

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. (I always seem to repeat these words don't I?)

Happy happy Crazy crazy Tuesday Tuesday :)

This image, done for Crazy Tuesdays “Repeating Objects” theme, will likely be of interest primarily to fans of American Major League Baseball. The image is a composite adapted from a display seen at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, in Cooperstown, New York.

The image shows Ted Williams, who played for the Boston Red Sox from 1939 to 1960 and is commonly acknowledged to be one of the greatest hitters of all time. The photo on the left shows Williams in his batting stance, with the baseball strike zone portrayed as a vertical box over home plate.

On the right side of the image is a close-up of the strike zone, with 77 baseballs that have been assigned a batting average by Williams. Each ball indicates what Williams believed his own average would be, if pitches were delivered in these areas of his strike zone.

In baseball, a batting average equals the percentage of times that a player hits successfully to get on base, reported in three figures with a decimal point, i.e., a player with a batting average of .250 would get a hit 25 percent of the time. Only 20 players have ever hit .400 or better over the course of an entire Major League season, and Williams was the last to do so, hitting .406 in 1941. He had a lifetime career batting average of .344. He died in 2002.

For those who are still reading at this point, if you take a look at the numbers, you can see that the best chance for an opposing pitcher was to pitch Williams low and to the outside of the strike zone, to minimize the chance of him getting a hit.

Sorry for the length here, but I felt as though I should explain it for those who know nothing about American baseball. :-)

Hello amazing Flickr people!

Today is an orange day at Color My World Daily Group. But also we have teddy bears since it is a Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday. And the theme at Crazy Tuesday is : Repeating Object .

The triplets and their beloved uncle Borys went on a reading adventure in their garden. Borys had to keep an eye on the triplets since their mother had a job interview. And we all know that jobs are interviews are very rare nowadays… So she asked Borys to “baby sit” her triplets. And since Borys loves to read, as do all the teddy bears, it was very easy to convince the triplets to go read outside. Each of our teddy bears had his own book and a hot choclate cup for the triplets and a gin & tonic for Borys. It is a well know fact, that young teddy bears love hot chocolate and older ones love gin & tonic (but in moderation of course).

Each of our teddy bears took a comfortable spot next to each other and started to read. There was no point in keeping the 6 feet distance between them, since they were all on lockdown in the same (very, very huge) building.

Borys loves kids ! He always wanted to be a father and have a tiny teddy bear all for himself but right now, he is married but has no children yet… So, he is very happy to baby sit whenever he has time.

And today was a perfect day with the triplets. Everyone was calm and truly enjoyed spending time reading in the garden. Someone said once : “Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in our hearts”. And it is so true my friends…

But for now, I have to go ! Rush hour: I have only 2 minutes to get to my dining room office, before my video meeting !!

See you later !! And have a happy and simple day !! HCT, HCMWD, HHTT to every participants !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and healthy!!

Meine erste Idee fürs Thema: Etwas Buntes und Fröhliches.

Natürlich gibt es auch noch "seriösere" Fotomotive. Aber das hier war und ist mein Favorit.

My first idea for the topic: Something colourful and happy.

Of course there are also more "serious" photo motifs. But this was and is my favorite.
