Always a pleasure to watch these bufflehead adopting the most amazing positions. The photo was processed in Lightroom and the dark background was obtained via desaturation for a more artistic rendition of the scene.

A natural rendition of seven images; revisited.

Image sharpness and colours rendition are sometimes less important than an emotional approach to an image, a moment in time, an ephemeral light.

This is a beautiful rendition of the Montagna Spaccata in Gaeta Italy.

"According to local stories, God was so distraught at the crucifixion of Christ that he made the earth shake and let out a lightning bolt which created three giant cracks in this mountain. The Sanctuary of Santissima Trinita, or Holy Trinity, was built during the 11th century by the Benedictine monks to honor this event." - excerpt from an article I read online.

There is great attention to detail at this sim. The street signs point to nearby towns close enough to Gaeta to be believable. The sea grotto feels like there is a divine presence. I'd suggest everyone visit this location and marvel in the beauty of the mountain first hand.

FRACTALIUS RENDITION

Since its raining today in Southern California, I’m inside listening to Joe Cocker’s rendition of “You Are So Beautiful.”

I didn’t make it to Woodstock in 69 to hear Joe in person (too many kids and too little money) but I didn’t go to Vietnam for the same reason… feeling blessed.

John Robert "Joe" Cocker (May 1944 – December 2014) was an English singer known for his gritty, bluesy voice and dynamic stage performances that featured expressive body movements.

Most of his best-known singles were recordings of songs written by other song writers, though he composed a number of songs for most of his albums as well.

Cocker released “You Are So Beautiful” on his album “I Can Stand a Little Rain.” Cocker's version was released as a single in November 1974. It became Cocker's highest charting solo hit, peaking at number five on the United States' Billboard Hot 100 (Cocker's biggest hit on the pop chart was "Up Where We Belong", a duet with Jennifer Warnes from the 1982 film An Officer And A Gentleman.

In 1993, Cocker was nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Male. He was awarded a bronze Sheffield Legends plaque in his hometown in 2007, and received an OBE the following year for services to music. Cocker was ranked number 97 on Rolling Stone's 100 greatest singers list.

Earlier work with the twirl. Sounds very weird. Done in Photoshop Elements 15.

Happy Slider Sunday

Dramatic rendition of the Ingelheim tower still named after the former Chancellor of the Reich Otto von Bismarck.

Some twirls that I never posted. I especially love the colours in this. I guess I should do some more of these so that I don't forget how to do them.

Ideal location with no COVID spreaders around 😊

Taken at my brother's property outside Orange during a recent trip to Australia.

According to Genesis, after Noah's flood God put the rainbow in the sky as the sign of His promise that He would never again destroy the earth with flood (Genesis 9:13–17): I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. For more information please visit

A rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. It takes the form of a multicoloured circular arc. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the sun.

Rainbows can be full circles. However, the observer normally sees only an arc formed by illuminated droplets above the ground, and centered on a line from the sun to the observer's eye.

In a primary rainbow, the arc shows red on the outer part and violet on the inner side. This rainbow is caused by light being refracted when entering a droplet of water, then reflected inside on the back of the droplet and refracted again when leaving it.

In a double rainbow, a second arc is seen outside the primary arc, and has the order of its colours reversed, with red on the inner side of the arc. This is caused by the light being reflected twice on the inside of the droplet before leaving it.

A semi abstract rendition of a carnivorous Oblong Leaved Sundew plant (Drosera intermedia) growing in a wetland.

The modified leaves of these carnivorous plants attract and trap insects using sticky red tipped hairs that glisten in the sun (hence the name "Sundew"). Sundews grow in bogs and fens where nitrogen essential for plant growth is typically deficient. The hapless insects once trapped by the plant are digested with enzymes to serve as a source of nitrogen rich nutrition. The modified leaves have a total length (with stalk) of about 1-3 cm. Oblong Leaved Sundew is widely distributed and is native to parts of Europe and the Americas.

Defunct gristmill on the Rapidan River, part of an interesting and beautiful National HIstoric District. The original mill was established in the 1700s. This third rendition was built in the 1950s and permanently closed in the 70s. The building now houses a non-profit conservation agency that is working to remove at least part of the dam, restoring the fish habitat of the Rapidan River. Currently the dam, the last remaining one on this river, blocks the migration path of at least six species of fish that naturally spawn closer to the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Right Here Waiting for You

Oceans apart day after day

And I slowly go insane

I hear your voice on the line

But it doesn't stop the pain

If I see you next to never

How can we say forever

Wherever you go

Whatever you do

I will be right here waiting for you

Whatever it takes

Or how my heart breaks

I will be right here waiting for you

I took for granted, all the times

That I thought would last somehow

I hear the laughter, I taste the tears

But I can't get near you now

Oh, can't you see it baby

You've got me going crazy

Wherever you go

Whatever you do

I will be right here waiting for you

Whatever it takes

Or how my heart breaks

I will be right here waiting for you

I wonder how we can survive

This romance

But in the end if I'm with you

I'll take the chance

Oh, can't you see it baby

You've got me going crazy

Wherever you go

Whatever you do

I will be right here waiting for you

Whatever it takes

Or how my heart breaks

I will be right here waiting for you

Waiting for you

Here's my rendition of Eli's Flash from the Elseworld Story Group! I put it next to my Green Arrow since it looked a bit lonely in the picture.

The design of the torso and legs (and cowl) were based on Eli's recent drawing of her.

Triton Fountain, Valletta, Malta.

Dramatic rendition of Malta’s majestic Triton Fountain outside Valletta’s City Gate. It’s one of the most iconic landmarks in Malta. It consists of three bronze Tritons holding up a huge basin. The sculptural group was designed and constructed between 1952 and 1959 and collapsed in 1978. Finally it was restored and officially inaugurated on January 2018.

Triton is a mythological Greek god, the messenger of the sea. He is represented as a merman which has the upper body of a human and the tail of a fish. Also he usually carried a trident, like his father, Poseidon. Triton blew a shell like a trumpet to calm and raise the waves. Its sound was such a cacophony, that when loudly blown, it put the giants to flight, since they imagined it to be the roar of a dark wild beast.

Fairy Blessings on the Eve of Theseus' Wedding:

"Through the house give glimmering light,

By the dead and drowsy fire.

Every elf and fairy sprite

Hop as light as bird from brier.

And this ditty, after me,

Sing and dance it trippingly.

First, rehearse your song by rote,

To each word a warbling note.

Hand in hand with fairy grace

Will we sing and bless this place."
