Previously seen on Flickr by Jude C, this very nice looking Renault 5. It has been fitted with different wheels which I like but has sadly lost its roof bars! Currently taxed until the 1st of May 2023 and MOT'ed until the 18th of November 2022. It currently sits at around 102,984 miles and the last logbook change was on the 24th of April 2022, so it would seem it has left life in London.

Renault's 1.000 kg light van was one of the first introductions of new commercial vehicles after WWII, appearing in prototype form in 1945 before entering production in February 1947. A 1.400 kg version soon followed, and in 1959 these two popular vans branded as the Voltigeur (1.000 kg) and Goélette (1.400 kg).
Unlike the front-wheel drive Citroën HY, the Renault was equipped with rear-wheel drive with the engine in the front. The Renault Goélettes were enormously successful and were purchased in large numbers by police, government services and the army, but also by all kinds of commercial enterprises. A variety of petrol engines were offered over the years, and a diesel option became available for the first time in 1961. Production of the Goélette continued until 1965.
Completely unrestored, this charming Renault Goélette Pickup Truck served as a training vehicle for light commercial vehicles in Chelles (France). Driving school Jean Auto Ecole still exists. Equipped with a 2141CC Etendard engine with 64 HP. (www.metropoleclassiccars.com/)
Entrepreneur Frans van Haren has a classic car collection that has won prizes at prestigious national and international competitions. Since 2017, he has been presenting his impressive car collection to a wider audience in the futuristic-looking, former furniture showroom 'Metropole' in Druten, the Netherlands. The collection includes some four hundred cars, trucks and motorcycles, making it almost the largest car museum in the Netherlands.
