Hiking in Antholz-Obertal, South Tirol, 2019. It was indeed a great moment as the clouds began to withdraw while we were hiking back to Antholz-Oberthal
On October 11, 1987, the first Wisconsin Central freight train to climb Byron Hill out of Shops Yard at North Fond du Lac, approaches the top of the grade at Byron, Wisconsin. Apparently, crews at the locomotive shop in town spent the morning removing Soo Line lettering from the locomotives and applying WC initials to the cabs of these three units to symbolically show the flag of the new railroad as soon as possible.

The Katsura is a deciduous tree with red or green flowers on different trees. These tiny red flowers indicate a male tree. My husband chose this for planting.

Apps: I used Photoshop Express to remove some haze, which gave more definition to the sky. Then overlaid that sky onto the original in Pixelmator. I used Lightroom to remove some noise, and finished with a frame in PhotoToaster.

Kelly Warm Springs hosts an interesting collection of unwanted aquarium fish. The outlet creek is cold enough that these non-native fish have not yet made it to the Snake River. The National Park Service is working on removing them.
It used to be a popular soaking spot for locals, but the presence of a brain-eating amoeba, naeglaria fowleri, seems to have dampened enthusiasm somewhat.
It has been a long time since I last visited Laguna Beach. I am glad I came. Getting out of the house is good medicine!

Fortunately, the best looking engine of this consist was the leader. Pan Am's Maine Central heritage GP9, the 52, is leading a pair of ex-CN GP40-2LWs with a short MAWA, coming down the hill at the Snakeroot Road outside Pittsfield. The 52 rarely gets out on the road, but it's a nice treat to see it out, and leading, although Pan Am has regrettably removed most of the signals on this formerly CTC equipped line, leaving far less props on this somewhat bland line, from a scenery standpoint.

Holland, MI has some lovely things to recommend it but its inlet Lake was surrounded by ugly industrial buildings. While some are still left, happily the power plant moved inland and the view you see here will no longer be marred by the smokestacks. Although I admit that after dark they did present a forlorn kind of beauty.

I removed my other protest...thanks for all your comments, for both sides being aired. I am so non-political, though. Of course I vote. I study the candidates. I read New Yorker religiously and listen to NPR; I read the daily paper, from radical to conservative ideas. Of course I care. But I cannot do political debate; it's just not who I am.
First came Abigail, then came Barney next was Clodagh followed by Desmond none of them succeeded in removing all the leaves from these trees! Mind you after Desmond there were only these few!
In case you are wondering who the names belong to .... well they refer to a succession of storms that have battered the British Isles over the past couple of months. It seems that the Met. Office decided to name the bad storms and asked the public for suggestions. The next one will apparently be called Eva!

It took around ten minutes to remove the wires and posts from the original shot.
Not something you would normally do but I was experimenting with the new Lightroom feature - and its pouring outside!

Not often you spot one that hasn't been modified, even tho it has a custom exhaust but that's easy removed!
