A barely controlled pandemic is keeping us cautious and at home even if the total lockdown has eased, for now. Our internet speeds are slow as our community deals with the new realities of remote learning, remote working and of course, remote shopping! Our CO₂ emissions are the lowest they have been since 1998, thanks to the travel restrictions and shutdown of industry while our waste streams are up from an increase in single use items and packaging from all of that home shopping.
The internet has slowed. But its still fast enough to keep us in touch with stuff that matters, like the arrival of these shelduck babies. The good news is that out in the open as they are, there is little risk that sneaking out for a photo will get anyone infected. New life brings us hope!
