To be better prepared for work in the time of coronavirus, I attended today a webinar on “Team dynamics during a crisis” organised by Obhi Chatterjee and Julie Guegan. Some 480 colleagues from the European Commission were connected to the webinar, of which two thirds remotely from their home (like me).To guarantee and nurture the dynamics of a team that is forced to work remotely because of a crisis, a leader should focus on 3 points: ensure good performance; boost the morale; strengthen the relationship.

Polycom has created an infographic based on the results of a survey on Flexible Working in Europe. With the upcoming Olympics in London, flexible working is a topic of key interest to many employers and employees as they try to ‘get around the games’. Polycom’s research has found that this could have a significant financial impact for business across Europe, not just in surviving the games, but also in enabling them to become more competitive long term.

While on one hand, distance learning and the pandemic are massive challenges, we have enjoyed how it means that learning can happen anywhere. We visited the campground recently to illustrate the opportunities for taking learning on the road. With safe modifications, of course.
