Looking Close... on Friday: Toy Cars in motion
Zane showed me how he could make his remote control monster truck could spin on the spot.
The picture was taken during the Lucid Motion exhibition by Daito Manabe x Rhizomatiks Research. Room was never this bright it was just a twinkle of light and somehow I managed to catch it.
We all know Specs's signature shot is in a bookstore, so I had to do my SP with her in The Strand.
I actually bought a book: The Big Oyster, Mark Kurlansky's book about the history of New York through the oyster business. I started it on the subway home and my always-present desire for an oyster is now at a fever pitch.
These are the first ten models of a series of mining equipment in scale 1:28.5, built over the last six years.
All models feature remote control functions, using SBricks and Power Functions or Powered UP components.
The creations are built after real existing equipment from various brands and different eras.
I still have some ideas to expand the collection...

Sloth is defined as spiritual and actual apathy or laziness, putting off what God asks you to do, or not doing it or anything at all. Acedia is a Latin word, from Greek akedia, literally meaning "absence of caring". Acedia can also lead to God's wrath.
Sloth can also concern wasting due to lack of use or allowing entropy, expanding into almost any person, place, thing, skills, or intangible ideal that would require maintenance, refinement and/or support to continue to exist.
This is something I am guilty of myself! I enjoy sitting back on the couch and relaxing to my favorite shows on TV. Sometimes I can be really lazy!
Sloth is a part of the 7 deadly sins series!

ed è in certi sguardi che nascondo ciò che non ti ho detto mai, per paura, per inganno o forse perchè certi segreti non vanno confessati.

A beautiful sunny day so i went to the lake.
Lovely to see the remote control yachts being sailed.
I took this shot into the sun and got some free sparkles !

the apartment is officially mine, mine, mine. I signed the lease, handed over the money, got the keys, got another tour of the building, flirted with the broker, and then took measurements of every room.
A quick compare/contrast:
New apt LR: 11'9" x 20'4" = approx 240 sq feet (in addition to the eat-in kitchen)
Old apt LR: 8'8" x 12'4" = approx 106 sq feet (and my "dining room" is also in here)
ho-leeee crap.
"L'intelligenza sta
nel comprendere appena in tempo
il ruolo preciso di un esistenza
le cose da gettare via
quelle importanti da valutare
per mettere a frutto le qualità
L'intelligenza sta
nel chiedersi sempre serenamente
se c'è la propria vita in allarme rosso
e non fare finta di ridere
con autoironia non mentire mai..."
The best gift this X-mas? A remote control for my new camera. Here's the shot I took to test out the device.
All I did was set the camera on the back of the couch, set it for "remote with 2 second delay," pressed the shutter release, and walked casually in front of the camera. I like the 2 second delay because it gives me time to put my hand down (so the photo doesn't have me pointing the remote at the camera.
Day 54 of the 365 Journey. As you can see there are still plenty of boxes from the move. The office is still kind of a mess. I know things are in the “general vicinity”, sometimes it’s just a matter of being in the BOTTOM FREEKIN box. SO I found the wireless Xbox controller. Now I just need to find the other wireless speaker.
Wish me luck!

Or, waking up in the morning with a smile in your lips.
Now, which one have you got?
"Lasciando adesso che le vene crescano
in intrichi di rami melodiosi
inneggianti al destino che trascelse
te fra gli eletti a cingermi di luce…
In libertà di spazio ogni volume
di tensione repressa si modella
nel fervore del moto e mi dissanguo
di canto ‘vero’ ad esso che trascino
la mia squallida spoglia dentro l’orgia
dell’abbandono. O, senza tregua più,
dannata d’universo, o la perfetta
nudità della vita,
o implacabili ardori riplasmanti
la già morta materia: in te mi accolgo
risospinta dagli echi all’infinito."

as seen in Limon, Costa Rica...all the kids were playing with their newly acquired Christmas presents in the town square
I shot this (self)portrait with a tripod and automatic release.
No additional lighting or equipment was used. The only light was obviously coming from the left, through a window behind the camera.
