Taken for the Our Daily Challenge Group 17 April 2010 Something that is battery operated. These are the 3 remotes I need to watch and listen to my TV/DVD. We watch through the DVD player so have to turn on the TV with one remote, the DVD with the other and the suround sound system with the little one.
Katie got me a remote (Canon RC-5) for the camera for my birthday. It's small and really easy to use, there is only one button! Those are the directions behind it... for a one button remote. Literally the only things you can do with the remote are push the one button, and replace the battery. And the directions are two sided!
This little guy will definitely make self portrait clone shots a lot easier...I won't have to worry about moving the camera or counting along with the timer for 10 seconds for every shot.

This is the first shot that I posted taken with my new camera.
I went in a remote places, almost scarry but very impressive!!!
Vivitar 285HV remote sensor cord with slave.
Since the foot or bottom half of the 285 doesn't allow for rotation, or during those setups when you are bouncing an off-camera 285 from within an umbrella (in which case a slave attached there might not see the trigger flash), I have found this to be the solution.
This way, I can position the slave pointed towards where I happen to be with the trigger flash.
Attach the remote sensor cord, install the slave (and the sensor itself ...not pictured here) and you're ready to go. Obviously, you'd want to meter the output just to be safe and set the flash to manual.
