These huge bales of straw remind me of enormous cotton reels, made from golden thread. And one day they'll be gone, because the giants will have come to collect them to spin into great cloaks of gold..... well, OK, I'm dreaming again ! But it would be lovely if that were the case. Instead, they're used for feeding cattle and making them bedding for the winter.
Taken in a field not too far from home, and processed using PicMonkey and Topaz Impression 2, finished in Topaz Glow. The birds are from a photo I took many years ago and used as a texture.

To think I nearly tossed this one…but I liked the bubbles of colour, reminds me of the daubs of paint on an artist's palette.

this image reminds me of photos I have seen of divers floating in the sea and looking up to the sun above the water ... the water sparkling and glittering. I am no diver so this is just me phantasizing a bit; but it's the reason I chose this macro for today's theme "blue" to celebrate Earth

Reminds me of my childhood summers when I spent the holidays with my grandparents. On the outskirts of the village there were cornfields, surrounded by cherry trees and underneath grew flowers like the ones in the picture above: poppies, cornflowers, but also camomile, from which I braided flower wreaths that I put over my long hair.

Kind of reminded me of a deep space nebula shot!
Was torn between the shot for this week, flip-flopped between this and a high speed capture created by dropping coins into a shot glass of water, but ended up with this. It’s a cobweb on our outside tap that I misted with a water atomiser and lit with LED lights.
HMM!
These old school buses remind me what happens as you grow too old - the kids don't come to visit anymore!

Gray jays always remind me of giant chickadees, even though they are close cousin to the crow and raven! Also called whiskey Jacks or camp robbers, these bold birds often come right into a camp and steal any food left out in the open. Whiskey Jack refers to the early Europeans interpretation (pronunciation) of the Native American name for this neat jay. They famously gather up food stores in the summer and wrap them up in gluey saliva before sticking all those tiny boluses away in tree hides called caches, up to 8000 scattered across their territory. They redeem those tasty treasures during the long cold winters up north where they live in boreal forests. Gray jay populations are in decline along the southern fringe of their range, here in the States, in part because those survival caches are now spoiling due to global warming.
This picture reminded me that once everything we are going through now, that is is always the darkest before the dawn. And it is going to get a lot worse, so pray, send positive thoughts to everyone you know..........FROM a distance I will add. Love today as you never know what tomorrow holds.
