I suppose when you live on an island that could be under 2' of lava at a moment's notice, it's important to remind the children about Noah's rescue mission. This was a really cool toy I found in an art shop. I'm not sure what the artist had against pandas, though. They look like they've had the poop scared out of them. Or they're just wholly uncomfortable being seated next to the polar bears. Maybe they owe money.
Most of the bricks seen here have inscriptions in them dedicated to the memory of lost loved ones. Even the fountain was a memorial to a loved one. This is simply a gorgeous setting to sit and enjoy the day here in Kingston Ontario Canada.
A touch of power on the mountains and trees. This particular trip saw sunshine, rain, snow and sunshine over a four day period.

The sun is back! I was able to go outside and take so many photos today; I had trouble picking one for this project. Ultimately, I chose this one because I love how the sun is hitting the leaf and making it look like a flame. The colors are so vibrant. My new camera captures light so much better than my old one did, especially in Aperture priority mode.
It was so nice outside today, it almost felt like autumn.
By the way, the quote is from one of my poems: this photo goes with it perfectly. =)

i can't remember for the life of me what's in a classic opera torte, but here's one i made. the ganache on top could have been less bubbly, but it sure was shiny. the upper right corner got bashed in when a certain person in my class pushed a kitchenaid bowl into it.
