The celebration for weekend with B continued. Sunday was forcast for rain and thunderstorm so instead of skating at Hamilton Beaches Trail, I did a bike workout in the gym while he slept in. Of course, when I returned from the gym, I was starving. I whipped up a quick and easy brunch for the two of us.
On the menu was soft scrambled eggs enriched with a dollop of last night's horseradish créme fraîche. I heated up some chipotle cheddar biscuits that I stashed away in the freezer. I also dressed a simple sprouts salad with vinaigrette and topped it with a couple of poached shrimps. We also enjoyed yogurt with banana maple granola.
As complicated as it may sound, this brunch was actually very easy to put together because most of the things could be made ahead. The ones that required a la minute preparation were mostly just simple tasks that I attended to while the eggs were slowly cook away over very low heat. I did zero planning for this meal, just pulling things out of the fridge. Very pleased with the result.
I'd heard Kim open the spa, so went out to see. Here she is relaxing, enjoying tea and reading her Prevention magazine.
I then turned around and caught those shots of the apricot that I just uploaded.

The person is relaxing in such a style as if not among the guests/visitors rather owner of the hotel. The photo was taken in Swat.
We went out in to the garden to watch the moon come up. Cool evening air, a drop of wine and a camera.
It's been a very long three weeks, with virtually no time for riding my bike or taking photos, or very much of anything really.
Work has been outrageously busy as we approach 'submission' for our two new titles.
Between tweaking graphics, updating and editing the large amount of text I've contributed to the new Guitar Hero III game (all of the guitar descriptions apart from two or three 'official' ones), working with external development people and having three simultaneous deadlines; checking and rechecking details; waiting for producers to get back to me with essential information, and building a high resolution model of a Les Paul, I've essentially been doing the work of four people.
Latterly I was given the assistance of two seasoned veterans, but they were new to the process of modeling and exporting the guitar models, so they were asking a lot of questions, and even they needed some help.
I've been promised interns for next year's game - great - they can put two interns in the space behind my desk, so I can keep an eye on them and answer their questions, and of course they can get my coffee for me.
All of that said, GH III has been a fantastic project to work on. We have pulled the rabbit out of the hat, entirely redesigning the substructure of the game. It may look just like the old GH3, but the technology behind it is entirely different.
I know I'm blowing my own trumpet here (ooer missus), but the graphics look stupendously good - all this from a very small team of character artists, environment artists and animators. Oh and not to mention the MOCAP team, who were working hardcore hours for several weeks longer than I and the other artists. Props to all the GH III and Tony Hawk's Proving Ground guys for their incredible work.
So it was a real treat to just not do anything for a while.
My way of relaxing instead of getting all dressed up to go outside and actually sunburnt I decided to lie in my room in a bikini and cropped shirt reading a few books and snacking of skittles.

I met Mary and Audrey relaxing in the beautiful evening sunshine on the South Wall, Dublin, Ireland.
After a chat they changed their minds and agreed to let me take their photo.
I gave them my Contact Card. Audrey gave me her email address to send her a copy of the photo.
For the photo the lighting was not the best as the sunlight was still bright. I got the ladies to pose with the sea and Howth in the background.
