Newfoundland Insectarium, Deer Lake, Newfoundland. Moving on to African insects now. This giant swallowtail butterfly was captured in the Democratic Republic of the Congo - and apparently they haven't bothered to relabel the exhibit since that country's name was changed from Zaire - but they're also found throughout most parts of equatorial Africa.

Ce voilier antimachus a été capturé en la République démocratique du Congo - et apparemment on n'avait pas pris la peine de réétiqueter l'exposition depuis ce que le nom de ce pays a été changé du Zaïre - mais ils se trouvent aussi dans la plupart des régions de l'Afrique équatoriale.

Esta mariposa gigante africana se capturó en la República Democrática del Congo - y al parecer no s han tomado la molestia de volver a reetiquetar la muestra desde que el nombre de ese paÃs se cambió de Zaire - pero también se encuentran en la mayor parte de Africa Ecuatorial.
the third one we got yesterday (02/18/2013) when six years old. regarding her age, it would have been odd to relabel her, thus we kept her years old name.
we rescued her from her original keeper who neglected her two rabbits, for which reason one of them even died four years ago. friends were trying to find her new people to care for her and so we will =) as she's not been meeting any other rabbits within four years, she's extremely cuddly with people. she instantly licked our skin. we'll unite her with the other two critters in a few days / end of week as we'll first have to have her examined.
whereas right now, she's examining the appartment except of the kitchen (where the other two live). i am pretty sure they've already smelled each other, but unification of rabbits can be quite an exersize so we'll need time for that =) her favourite place in our appartment already turned out to be beneath the couch table =D

Looking north toward Lock 5 of the Oswego Barge Canal. As you travel the Oswego River you may notice that Lock 3 is followed by Lock 5. There is no Lock 4 on the Oswego Canal. The original plans actually did include a Lock 4, but as construction progressed, engineers determined the lock wasn't needed. At that time, all the plans and diagrams were done by hand; it was just simpler to leave out the lock, than relabel the others. The same situation occurred on the Erie which is missing Lock 31 and the Champlain has no Lock 10. This shot was taken from Route 48 in Minetto, NY.

These two images are screenshots from a program I just wrote in Processing. The were taken just a few seconds apart under the same lighting conditions. The dramatic change in perceived lighting is due to a selective emphasis that has been applied automatically, in live, real-time, to images coming from the webcam on top of a modern iMac.
A region of interest is selected by the user by either moving object or the camera to place the interesting region in the center of the image. Given a rudimentary guess of a foreground-background segmentation using a circular lump about the center of the screen, the algorithm begins to repeatedly build a model of color likelihood given a segmentation label (a value between 0 and 255) then relabel each pixel with its most likely label. At the end of each pass the label image is smoothed with a small Gaussian kernel. Passes are synchronized with grabbing of new frames from the camera so, in this way, the label image from the previous frame becomes the prior labels for the next frame, exploiting temporal coherence.
The combined sharing of information across space and time allows the algorithm to track moving regions of interest even under drastic appearance changes. This comes with a trade-off for the region of interest shifting undesirably in some occasions. Though it is uncommon, it is quite possible for the region of interest to become disconnected. In the right image, several distinct blobs are visible on the door.
To create visual emphasis, the areas outside of the region of interest are darkened and blurred slightly.

I thought all the orchids on this site were common spotted, but this one has wide flowers with a more speckley pattern than "usual". However, this family is a classic one for flowers that show lots of variation, so maybe it is.
Happy for experts to tell me different!
And advice from other groups is that this likely is a heath spotted. Excellent - will relabel.
This is my first Les Paul. It's been around more than I have and it's a cheap Samick/Epiphone relabel, but I still have it and it still sounds good even with an amateur neck repair job and the same cheap electronics it's always had.
My mom and I went apple picking on Saturday. I've been wanting to go for a few years now, but never had the chance because I was either a) working or b) too lazy to drive up there. Saturday was the perfect day to go. The apples were huge (bigger than my hand) and juicy and super sweet. I think my taste buds forgot what real fruit tastes like!
I can't, for the life of me, remember which apples these are. I'll have to get the map from my mom and then I can relabel this!

OK So don't give me any grief on this one.
Like Deb has said here in AZ, Southern AZ we don't really have a change in seasons. I have been racking my brain about this item and what to do. A few days ago I thought how about a change in seasonings.
OK I admit it's a stretch but it's all I could come up with. So then how to show it.
I was going to do a triptych and show the pepper bottle on it's side then the Thyme bottle full of hot pepper but I got lazy, plus I somehow wanted to relabel the bottle.
So here is a change of seasons in my house.
