#lowkey
A low-key presentation is what I often "end up with" when it comes to Macro Mondays, so this week's big challenge for me was to find a nice subject. And this wasn't easy because, usually, I don't even think about doing low-key, it simply happens naturally. So my mind went blank regarding the subject I would like to photograph as low-key.
Somewhat luckily, however, I have just recently rekindled my old love for Casio watches, especially the G-Shocks, and after 20 or more years with only two Skagen watches to choose between I thought it was time for something new, so I bought one of the "Origins", a square one with a metal bezel that has a beautiful sunset gradient finish (from a series called "Shanghai Night"). That bezel is a beautifully shiny, blingy thing (while the watch module itself, unfortunately, is of the more simple kind), so you bet that I keep polishing it with my shirt, pullover, whatever I wear, or what comes to hand.
But what was the first thing I saw when I looked at the camera's display? Of course: lint and dust. But what else did I expect in macroverse, after all, dust will be dust ;) So I did some more polishing before I placed the watch inside of a black cardboard box to prevent diffuse daylight from coming into the little scene. The final image is a single upside-down shot (with my camera snugly and safely mounted to an overhead table tripod) with the main focus on one of the four pushers (each pusher is 4 mm / 0,15 inches in diameter). Processed in DXO PL5, Analog Efex, and PS where I did the final polishing touches (=dust removal). I decided to leave some of the dust in the image, namely where it had transformed into some nice, starry milky way bokeh ;)
HMM, Everyone, and have a nice week ahead!

"Past the square, past the bridge
Past the mills, past the stacks
On a gathering storm
Comes a tall handsome man
In a dusty black coat with
A red right hand
He'll wrap you in his arms
Tell you that you've been a good boy
He'll rekindle all the dreams
It took you a lifetime to destroy
He'll reach deep into the hole
Heal your shrinking soul
But there won't be a single thing that you can do
He's a god, he's a man
He's a ghost, he's a guru
They're whispering his name
Through this disappearing land
But hidden in his coat
Is a red right hand!"

At times our own light dims and goes out, but is rekindled by the spark from another . . . or others. . . Lynn is grateful for all the prayers and well wishes as she went through her back surgery a week ago and is now well into recovery.

Salmon spawning grounds which run through the Musqueam golf course and are an environmentally sensitive area. This photo symbolizes birth for me whether that be a new chapter in your life, the birth of a child, a new beginning, a new relationship or the rekindling of an old one. Whatever it may be in your life I hope the sun comes up and shines in as beautiful a spot as this. Have a great week friends.

The Christians tend to celebrate Easter-peopled-ness,
not in any proud or holier-than-thou manner,
but as an optimistic promise
resurrection-claiming
Holy Week unwinding
Lent minimizing
kind of way.
But, we are all an Easter people,
at least we Canadians
save those in Victoria or Point Pelee.
Everywhere else, in this often frigid place,
and some of those Scandinavian places too,
Siberia maybe, and Greenland (ha!),
we and they are Easter people.
We live the life of rebirth,
relife, rekindled in our frozen ground,
crocus, snowdrop, scilla,
poking through winter’s death
every early Spring.

Today's Macro Mondays entry - topic:- Mesh

I can't think of Mesh without 'M*A*S*H' coming to mind ... that great American comedy television series about a mobile medical surgical unit caught up in the middle of the Korean War.

Some names to throw at you now... :
Alan Alda (Dr. "Hawkeye" Pierce), Gary Burghoff (Radar O'Reilly), Loretta Swit (Major "Hot Lips" Houlihan), Jamie Farr (cross-dressing Sergeant Maxwell Q. Klinger), Harry Morgan (Colonel Sherman T. Potter), Mike Farrell (Captain B.J. Hunnicut), David Ogden Stiers (Major Charles Winchester), Larry Linville (Major Franklin Burns), to name but a few great characters. The show first aired in 1972 and ran for eleven years.

And if that is not enough to rekindle a few old memories, how about a moment for the series theme tune called "Suicide is Painless," just ♪♫♪ Click Here ♪♫♪.

Heritage Great Western Railway locomotive No. 7822 'Foxcote Manor' is seen resting at Shackerstone station in Leicestershire. The Battlefield Line Railway runs from Shackerstone to Shenton, via Market Bosworth, a total of 5 miles. Shenton is near Bosworth Field, giving the railway its name.
The Battle of Bosworth or Bosworth Field was the last significant battle of the Wars of the Roses, the civil war between the Houses of Lancaster and York that extended across England in the latter half of the 15th century.
My happiness and peace returns ♥
Easter symbolises resilience and resurrection. May hope and love be rekindled and may we all be resilient amidst adversities.

Here comes the rain to melt the snow. Spring is almost here! :) I liked the way the drops rested on the orange cord. I love me some drop hunting. Hehe ;)

If life's little downs they keep coming around
Carry on, carry on
With darkness all about, you want to scream and shout
Carry on, carry on..........
The half hour before sunset is my favorite time of day wherever I am, but nowhere more so than in the red canyons of the Colorado. The jugged ridges seem to glow like blazing logs, then dulled by shadows of fast drifting clouds lose their brilliant glint, only to be rekindled by the gusts of desert winds. After this, night is an afterthought.
Although the colors are definitely getting harder to come by and much less impressive, sometimes all it takes is a little light to bring them back to life.
I want to thank all the great creators of Second Life! I see your creations and the desire to take a photograph is rekindled!
Heartfelt thanks ...even if I'm not sure I still have one!
Just a few more days left of 2021, begin a new resolution now, SLOW down, SMELL the roses, I remember when I first picked up a camera in 2011 that I began to notice things small, looking at the every day things in a different light. Rekindle that fascination with everything as it is the first time or maybe think that it may be the last time to see it and things will take on a whole new look.
This is one of the more striking of the common dragonflies active mid-summer in the Ottawa area. This creature is likely a juvenile male, as its twelve dark spots are present but the white spots in between are faint and still coming in.
I think the differences between the English name and the French and Latin-scientific names are interesting. Both the French and scientific names appear to want to commemorate the species’ beauty, and beauty in flight; in English, a far more prosaic effort is made.
I attempt many more dragonfly images than I post. They can be tricky to experiment with, as they will flush pretty easily unless in a dormant phase. I am trying to capture enough of the species, with good detail, while at the same time pushing for something a bit more engaging. The fact that they can sometimes hang straight and still seems less interesting photographically.
This species is very active around lakes and small bodies of standing water. I found this one while I was crouched in a wetland waiting for a Pied-billed Grebe to drift my way. And after my first trip out with my camera yesterday, in the still and snowy woods, I felt the need to rekindle my connection to the colour green!

These days I am rekindling with kindred spirits as restrictions and weather allow for more visits with others in public places. While trying to give support to others, I am realizing how much I miss their company, too. This Sumac was a beacon of color on a grey day outing with good friends.

Rekindling memories of Cornell Red C628 trios on NE-87, Norfolk Southern ES44AC 8104 leads a trio of GEs and a light train of mostly empties past the former Penn-Dixie cement plant at Howes Cave, New York. Following the Lehigh Valley heritage unit leading 11R between Mohawk Yard and East Worcester was a highlight for me, as this was my first crack at the Lehigh Valley heritage unit on the former Delaware & Hudson and it was a pretty successful one.
This was our last night in Paris, France, and to boot, it was my birthday. We had a great two weeks, taking in two Euro Cup matches, rekindling some friendships, savouring great meals, and great family time. The kids discovered new parts of France, and really enjoyed the south and football matches. All in all a great trip.

“Brand and Logos” for #MacroMondays. This Elgin pocket watch belonged to my husband's great-grandfather. It looks well-used and, at increasing apertures, shows more and more wear.
Less than 2 inches /5 cm across.
My Flickr friend Conall noted the aperture phenomenon on my previous photo. But whattheheck, it's an old used antique watch ;-) I'm trying not to use shallow depth of field all of the time. f/18

This megalithic monument may date from the later Bronze Age, about 1400 to 800 BC The name Beltany is derived from the spring festival of Beltane which is associated with the lighting of hilltop fires in a rekindling of the sun.

🎼: A New Day Has Come~ Celine Dion~
A new day has come
A new day has come
I was waiting for so long
For a miracle to come
Everyone told me to be strong
Hold on and don't shed a tear
Through the darkness and good times
I knew I'd make it through
And the world thought I'd had it all
But I was waiting for you
Hush now I see a light in the sky
Oh it's almost blinding me
I can't believe I've been touched by an angel with love
Let the rain come down and wash away my tears
Let it fill my soul and drown my fears
Let it shatter the walls for a new sun
A new day has come
A new day has come

A small time of romance despite the cold of Wisconsin is the wooden covered bridge. This bridge leads over the frozen lake and sits among the bare trees. As you walk over the bridge, you can see a visible point of the deer strolling along the lower pathway. What a great way to rekindle a bit of romance
This is the car that scored the first F1 win for McLaren at the 1968 Belgian Grand Prix and the first McLaren to be powered by the Cosworth DFV.
The car is seen here without the small wings that were developed during the 1968 season to increase the downforce although you can see the mounting points on the nose.
The car is painted in the papaya colour that was synonymous with McLaren during the period (maybe McLaren should rekindle their own fortunes by painting their 2017 F1 cars in this colour).

Just playing around with one of my very early digital photos when I realized I really like this.
Just a small shot of a place where two concrete slabs on a building meet, but it has cool lines, texture, shapes. The kind of stuff that rekindled my passion for photography after many years of just snapshot shooting.
