In both function and form, many fixtures now shine more brightly and run more efficiently in the Cannon House Office Building. As part of a broader effort complementing the Cannon Renewal Project, the effort to restore and renew, and in some cases, reproduce, many of the historic or existing lighting fixtures gracefully reilluminates the building's Beaux Arts civic architecture, its marble and its offices.

Back at Nathan Phillips Square, facing towards downtown (South) - right at the end of Earth Hour - some buildings have already reilluminated.

A 1988 example in very good condition apart from the common rotten bootlid.

Not the best colour if not kept highy polished and wheels clean so looking a bit drab.

I tend to avoid these "digital" Jags these days, I wonder how many eroneous faults the VCM is showing, or how many times a day the driver needs to bash the dash top to reilluminate the gauge displays..

Post 90my cars have conventional clocks, and more reliable electrical and ABS systems..

Inlaid Dayton's sign, restored and reilluminated. (location is just below the windows of the Skyroom.)

Möbel Olfe – formerly a furniture store, now a famous gay bar, among other things. Probably the largest neon letters in town, says Verena Gerlach. Two of her former fellow students at Weißensee, Ingo Fröhlich and Lukas Kühne, reilluminated the neon letters as an art project during Kreuzberger Kunsttage.

Week 1:

"Reilluminated"

Thanks to the artist for allowing us to photobomb their booth at November's First Friday art walk. Really great stuff retro lamps. Highly recommend you check out the artist if you are into that stuff:

For this image, I had a shutter speed of 25 seconds to compensate for the lack of natural light because it was taken at dusk. I wanted to capture this scene at this time in the day because the little amount of light illuminated the parts of the subject I was most interested in- the square and rectangular shapes of the truck as well as some of the background components. The composition also brings interest to the subject because of the point of view the camera captured. The image conveys a pensive mood in the way that the subject was captured sort of coming forward from the darkness. To me, just seeing the details of the truck convey a grave feeling in that aspects from the past will only be memories and will never truly be reilluminated.
