On the Krimmler Tauern trekking we reached the nice Unterer Gerlossee and the popular hut nearby. Above the lake is the group of Reichenspitze. Having a tent with us, we continued the hike one more hour and spent the night at the upper lake.
The two summits of Zillertal Alps are seen here from near the Zittauer Huette. The normal route ion Gabler goes by this glacier and then along the ridge, while the much higher Reichenspitze is normally reached from the other side.
Morning before our departure on the second day of Krimmler Tauern trekking. Behind is the group of Reichenspitze.
Photo taken on May 28th, 2017. Wildkarspitze, Gabler and Reichenspitze in the Eastern Zillertal Alps in the background.
Reichenspitze, 3.303 m, Zillertaler Alpen. Sorry, no sunrise pictures this time. I started my day at 3.45 and started to climb, but it was very foggy and a little wet that night. Later I started a second try, left the mountain hut at 8.30 when it was still foggy. One hour after I reached the summit the clouds opened for a few moments, so I had a chance to take this picture.

This 1971 shot looking south along a deep valley in the Zillertal Alps near the town of Königsleiten shows two beautiful mountains, the 3,073m Wildkarspitze on the left and Reichenspitze at 3303m on the right. The bottom of the valley is occupied by man-made reservoir Durlaßboden.
Was taken at 4pm after the skiresort was closed. A few people still enjoy the panorama. First I wanted to wait for the sunset, but that would´ve taken another 1,5 hourse to wait.
Enjoy it big size ;-) BTW the original has about 10kpix width.
Too bad that the Flickr Jpeg algorithm compresses so much.

This is a small lake from glacier water on 2450 meter above sealevel. The mountain you see is the Reichenspitze 3303 meter.
The picture is a HDR made from 3 exposer merged in Photoshop and tone mapped in Photomatix. Then I gave it some bite with LucisArt.
View Down Salzach Valley, Far peaks left to right are Wildkarspitze, Gabler, and Reichenspitze, all above 3000m.
The mountain in the far distance in the centre is the Gross Venediger. Reichenspitze just appears in the top left corner. In front of that is a ridge stretching from Grundschartner on the left, to the Rosswandspitze, then to Wollbachspitze to the right of the glacier. The ridge in front runs from Floitenturm on the left towards the double-pointed Gigalitz and the deep pass of Lapenscharte. In the centre of the ridge in front is Kellerkopf; it rises to Zsigmondyspitze which is just out of sight on the right. The foreground contains the greener slopes of Kleine Ingent.
