Your morning sets the tone for the rest of your day. A well-planned morning routine can help you achieve more, stay motivated, and make progress toward your long-term goals. Here's how to design a bulletproof morning routine for success.

1. Wake Up Early (But Not Too Early)

The earlier you wake up, the more time you have to set the pace for your day. But don’t go overboard; waking up at 5 AM isn’t necessary if it disrupts your sleep.

Find a time that works for you — ideally between 5:30 AM and 7 AM.This gives you a head start without overwhelming you.

2. Hydrate First Thing

After hours of sleep, your body is dehydrated.Drink a large glass of water to kickstart your metabolism and rehydrate your body.Optionally, add lemon for a detoxifying boost.

3. Start with Movement

Whether it’s stretching, yoga, or a quick workout, getting your body moving early increases blood flow and energy. Even 10 minutes of light exercise is enough to feel more awake and alert.

4. Practice Mindfulness or Meditation

Take 5–10 minutes for meditation or simply sit quietly and reflect.A mindfulness practice helps you clear your mind, reduce stress, and set a positive tone for the day.

Apps like Headspace or Calm are great tools to guide your meditation.

I took the fork that leads down towards the river, rather than following the Tonto trail round to its junction with the South Bass trail higher up the creek. When I reached the drainage, there was a great campsite right there and a short way away I found pools of water in a rocky area of creek bed. The water wasn't flowing and tadpoles were hanging out in one end but the water was cool, clean and not salty.

I did some serious rehydrating. That's why I look relieved in the photo!

Here is a shot that uses one of the graphic depth factors to indicate z-axis. I chose aerial perspective to show depth. The foreground, which includes the wooden railing, the glass of water and Carli's hand are all crisp and clear, whereas the background is sort of blurry and out of focus.

I decided I wanted some New Mexico red chile sauce. Easier, of course, to go to one of the many places in town that serve an excellent version of it, but it's a way to spend an afternoon. The same chiles after rehydrating and cooking for 1/2 hour with onion, garlic, fresh ground comino, and some salt.

This Pork with Shiitake Mushroom dish was so easy to cook. After marinating the pork and rehydrating the mushrooms by soaking them for a while, I threw everything into a pot of boiling water (about an inch). After a few minutes of high heat (covered pot), I let it simmer until cooked tender and then thickened the gravy.

Sounds weird? Try it!
