In 1984, Shaheed Beant Singh and Shaheed Satwant Singh executed Indira Gandhi for her crimes against humanity, specifically, her crimes against the Sikh people for the attack and invasion of Harimandir Sahib (Golden Temple), known as the Blue Star Massacre. Although the numbers are under dispute, many innocent Sikhs, men, women and children, were slaughtered by the Indian Army.
There followed a State-sponsored pogrom, egged on by - it is widely believed - Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar, among others, both currently candidates in the Congress Party of India. Thousands of innocent Sikhs were murdered.
Recently., Jagdish Tytler was investigated for his crimes, 25 years after the acts. On 1 April 2009, the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation), India's top crime investigation unit declined to indict him and gave him a clean chit.
This picture is my emotional reaction to this gross miscarriage of justice. Typical "justice," India-style.

Ratzeburg is a medieval city which was first mentioned in the early 11th century as a ring fortress of the Polabian Prince Ratibor (or Ratse). Its old city center is situated on an island in the Ratzeburger See (Ratzeburg Lake), only connected to the main land by three dams.
The most impressive building on the city island (also called Dominsel = cathedral island) is the Ratzeburger Dom (Ratzeburg Cathedral), built in the second half of the 11th century in brick Romanesque style, with some later modifications in Gothic style. The medieval cathedral is one of the oldest churches of Schleswig-Holstein, and the whole complex of cathedral, cloister and monastery is one of the completest extant late Romanesque ensembles in Europe.

Johann Niklas Bandelin (* 2. Dezember 1741 in Rehna; † 9. Februar 1824) war ein deutscher Pädagoge, Dichter und evangelischer Kirchenlieddichter.
Bandelin war der Sohn des gleichnamigen Predigers an der Klosterkirche Rehna. Er studierte ab 1760 Theologie an der Universität Rostock, ab 1761 in Bützow und ab 1765 an der Universität Göttingen. Nach Jahren als Hauslehrer und erfolglosen Bemühungen um eine Predigerstelle in Mecklenburg wurde er 1778 Lehrer am Katharineum zu Lübeck. 1820 ließ er sich pensionieren. Er verfasste Gesänge zur Erbauung, die 1778 in Bützow erschienen und unter dem späteren Titel: Gedichte religiösen Inhalts bis 1817 sieben Auflagen erreichten, die letzte 1817 mit einem Anhang vaterländischer Gedichte versehen. 1820 folgte noch eine Letzte Sammlung geistlicher Gedichte.
1817 wurde er mit der Ehrenmitgliedschaft der Gesellschaft zur Beförderung gemeinnütziger Tätigkeit geehrt.

It was a very windy day, so our landing was a bit of a challenge.
The balloon basket touched down on the ground two or three times, then tipped over and was dragged some 20 meters or so through a cornfield before it finally came to a halt.
Really adventurous!

We are on watch!
Normally, the retrieve vehicle which shall pick up the passengers and the balloon after landing just follows the balloon in order to see where it's going. But as my sister-in-law was advanced in pregnancy, she didn't fly with us but had herself carriaged in the retrieve vehicle. The driver stopped every now and then so she could take photos of us in the balloon.

Balloon flight from Ratzeburg, Schleswig-Holstein, in the direction of Rehna, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), Germany.
This is Schlagsdorf, a small village in the Nordwestmecklenburg district (Northwestern Mecklenburg district) east of Ratzeburg.
In the right back you see the brick gothic village church of the late 12th century. In the left front you can see the reproduction of a watch tower of the former Inner German border which belongs to the Grenzhus ("border house"), a museum showing how life at the Inner German border was like. During GDR times, Schlagsdorf was situated inside the exclusion zone.

The balloon envelope waiting to be folded back into its bag.
It was a very windy day, so our landing was a bit of a challenge.
The balloon basket touched down on the ground two or three times, then tipped over and was dragged some 20 meters or so through a cornfield before it finally came to a halt.
Really adventurous!
