Last image in this series of three from the very beautiful Basilica Cattedrale di Reggio Calabria Maria SS Assunta.

The core of the cathedral looks splendid, even though it is not overloaded with gold unlike many other Catholic cathedrals.

Don't miss to zoom in (twice!) I you like to enjoy fine details.

"Ideali amate voci

A volte ci parlano in sogno

The history of this church is documented as early as the 10th century. The present name derives from a Norman confraternity that rebuilt the church, and dedicated it to the Virgin of the Annunciation. The Ottimati were a congregation of nobles founded by the Normans. Over time, these included the Filocamo, Griso, Altavilla and Borboni.

Reggio Calabria Waterfront - The image is a little blurred, and was taken without lookin on the viewfinder. I was attracted by the waves behind the kissing couple..After that I discovered the play of the different levels and some symbolism, like the fallic column and the attached chain. Hazard and chance are the best friends of the photographer.
