The billboard says:

Mayotte est comorienne et le restara a jamais = Mayotte is Comorian and will remain so forever.

Mayotte, although one of the 4 Comorian islands, chose to remain with France in 1975 after the Comoros declared its independence following the 1974 referendum. From the very beginning Mayotte refused to join the new republic and aligned itself even more firmly to the French Republic.

When Amtrak refused to renew their lease on space in D&RGW's Provo, Utah train depot, the structure was found to be surplus by the Rio Grande and demolished in January 1987.

Amtrak found itself with no station/facility for passengers to wait for trains. Not even a pay phone. Amtrak arranged to have the D&RGW built for them a "Handi-Hut" transit shelter for California Zephyr passengers.

another one from my early morning puddle reflection sortie.

as I waited for an uninterrupted view on the street I heard the rumble of a truck moments before it came into view, I rallied to the challenge of tweeting the camera settings in just five or six seconds to capture the moving vehicle in the dawn light.

Rather than being an annoyance to the street it adds a Wonderfull feeling of reality to the early morning setting. The driver was most curtious and careful to avoid the puddle in which my camera was located, Thankyou.

The irony was that I crouched next to the bins which this truck was on its way to empty. I was subsequently able to relocate the bins and progress with my session with more of the puddle in view.

I have always been drawn towards abandoned places, both in SL and RL. There is something poetic about buildings, toys and objects once loved and cared for, now left behind - it's almost like the objects themselves refuse to forget and cling to the memory of lost love. Finding these places is like discovering hidden gateways to the past, and it chills me. Maybe we can all agree to disagree that there was, “There was a crooked man,” or at least hold different notions of who the original is and how other visionaries have seen within the, “little crooked house.” One starting point could be, “—And He Built a Crooked House—,” by Robert A. Heinlein first published in, “Astounding Science Fiction,” in February 1941.

There again that work looks in on this one,

There was a crooked man and he went a crooked mile,

He found a crooked sixpence against a crooked stile;

He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse,

And they all liv'd together in a little crooked house.

James Orchard Halliwell set this in print in, “The Nursery Rhymes of England,” 1842 followed in 1849 with, “Popular Rhymes and Nursery Tales,”this was a sequel to, “The Nursery Rhymes of England.” Halliwell was banned from The British Museum suspected of taking documents from Trinity College, Cambridge, no prosecution ensued, but even his father in law a noted bibliophile refused to see him, or his daughter again. Halliwell literally created books within books and pages coming from and leading off to further illumination as he cut from old books and made scrapbooks of his cuttings. The destructive process of his book cutting and pasting was enough to close doors and have him excluded from rooms whilst he made new perspectives and gave food to fuel imagination opening doors that others could never follow him through.

I feel sure that there are those still enraged by his actions.

.......He refuses to be alone. He is the man of the crowd. It will be in vain to follow, for I shall learn no more of him, nor of his deeds.....

The Man of the Crowd-Edgar Allan Poe

The subject is trapped in a cage, regardless that it is made of paper. An easy material to break through as seen through the tears in it. Even the lock and the shackles are made of paper aswell which as well can be broken with ease. But these are all obstacles the subject refuses to tackle so she therefore remains trapped with no will to break free of her boundaries.

But here's my admission. Neither of us drink much at all in the way of alcohol, and certainly not Whiskey with or without an "e"! Not even Bourbon. My first headache was caused by Scotch and unlike Lot's wife, I refused to look back, ever. But yes, it's all genuine of course but the only place we visited of the three was Dewars in the delightful village of Aberfeldy. And horror of horrors, none have or will be opened, the crystal contains something I do like, Lady Grey tea. A prop like they use on TV!

Pieter Lastman (Amsterdam, 1583 - Amsterdam, April 4, 1633) Susanna and the Two Old Men (1635) - oil on oak panel 43.1 x 58.7 cm - Gemäldegalerie, Berlin

Susanna rifiutò, fu calunniata e condannata a morte.

In 1614, Pieter Lastman, one of the most important history painters of his time, created his biblical depiction of the chaste Susanna, who firmly resisted the threats of two old judges. The book of Daniel tells of the respected Ioiachim who owned a house with a garden in Babylon, where the Jews met. Two old judges also came and fell in love with Jojakim's beautiful wife, Susanna, and decided to ambush her one day while she was bathing in the garden. Susanna refused, was slandered and sentenced to death. Young Daniel finally condemned the judges who were executed in Susanna's place. Lastman shows Susanna in her moment of fear, sitting on a sphinx-like fountain figure. The two elders have already stepped forward and are visibly impressed by their physical beauty. To the right in the tree are two peacocks, which, as a traditional symbol of pride, are clearly related to the judges. Lastman has already shaped the pictorial system with the seated Susanna and the clothes placed behind her as well as the deep view of the landscape, which Rembrandt will later use as a source of inspiration
