Had planned a three-day backpacking trip around the Three Sisters, but on arriving in Bend the smoke was so horrific the effort seemed unimaginably dumb. Approaching South Sister, my plans refocus on simply climbing that the next day, hoping the forecast of smoke blowing away is correct.
