The CSIS Energy and National Security Program is pleased to host a conference focused on the latest developments in the crude oil export debate as well as the role of refining (both domestic and globally) in finding an economically viable home for US light oil production. As debates heat up over domestic policy choices affecting both the upstream and downstream sectors, the need for informed (and perhaps more detailed) discussion has become increasingly important. This conference seeks to both inform and supplement the debate on two issues that will have a large impact on the future domestic U.S. energy landscape as well as global investment going forward.

Refining the time lapse off the E-P2...
This time, it was set to fire every 5 seconds. and complied at 720p at 25fps. I should have exposed for the sun, but its been raining all day and didnt expect it to pop out like that.
Much nicer and smoother then the last and this time with a feel good soundtrack! :P
Shot with the Olympus E-P2 with a Voigtlander 35mm f2.5 Color Skopar "C" lens. The remote limited me to only 399 pictures, which is short. I guess next time I will have to keep an eye on it and start it up again as soon as its done.

I am slowly refining my processing techniques, and I am pleased with the results, regardless of what anyone else might think. My opinion is the only one that matters anyway, of course.
I have used DxO/NIK modules in Photoshop for years, and I love those NIK “filters”. One nice thing is the way you can create an effect, and then “paint” it over portions of the image leaving other portions untouched. Yeah, you can do that natively in Photoshop, but IMO it is easier in NIK.
In this case the rock itself is more-or-less in its natural SOOC state, but I went into NIK Color Efex and did a heavy dose of “Glamour Glow” and “Vignette Blur”. I was then able to paint this effect over the background foliage in a new layer without impacting the main subject. When I do this, I make sure that the effect is a little extreme, because I can then dial-it-back with a layer opacity adjustment to get exactly what I want.
Of course, you have to start with something decent. What makes this image, and what prompted me to take it in the first place, is the texture of the rock and moss emphasized by the oblique angle of the sun. THAT ya can’t fake.
