I'm sure a much reduced room rate can be negotiated at the moment. Located on the edge of the University of Guelph Research Park, this looks like it will become our largest hotel. A quick search revealed 140 rooms when it is completed. Not sure where the casino entrance will be :-)
Most plants live off water, but have you ever wondered why cacti are known for being able to live off very little amounts of water? Maintaining water is one of the main characteristics that cacti are known for doing. The reason being is because of their reduced leaves. As you can see from the photo, cacti do not have leaves. After a long period of time, many plants have adapted to dry conditions by forming reduced leaves. Reduced leaves can either be relatively thin or narrow. This cactus has relatively thin leaves. Because these leaves are so thin, they have lost their photosynthetic capacity of conserving water.
