(I'm not entirely sure it's a Northern Shoveler hen but that's how I remember it.)

The Red-necked phalarope (Phalaropus fulicaria) is a very common boreal migrant along the central Peruvian coast but mostly at sea. It can be observed during marine birding and dolphin watching tours of Nature Expeditions. Have a look at: nature-expeditions-peru.com/

These juvenile Red-necked Phalaropes were found at Wakarusa Wastewater Treatment Facility on 8/15/13 and again on 8/16/13. These photos were taken at about noon on 8/16/13 by J & E Harley.

A dainty red-necked phalarope was the star bird at Covenham Reservoir at the weekend attracting a steady flow of admirers.
