Artist Statement:

The Forest Remembers imagines memory as ritual. Each balloon here is not playful it is funereal. They mark the unseen, the unspoken. I wanted this piece to feel as though you’ve stumbled upon something sacred, or perhaps forbidden a path through grief disguised as wonder.

There is no clown here, no child, no body. But you know something happened. And the forest remembers.

This piece continues my study of childlike artifacts as haunting relics, exploring how the innocent becomes mythologized through fear, repetition, and time.

Artist Statement:

The Tether of Stillness is a portrait of suspended transformation a woman mid-eclipse between the real and the symbolic. This is not a dream, but a staging of memory: weightless, orderly, surreal.

The red balloon represents desire or danger it’s unclear which. The apples are a nod to knowledge, but uneaten. The pet-like form beside her is not a dog, but a memory of companionship made soft to be safe.

She does not float, despite the clouds because in this liminal world, floating is a luxury for those who forget. And she remembers everything.

This piece is part of an exploration of female stillness in surreal environments moments where women are not objectified, but mythologized by their own presence.

Artist Statement:

The Offering is a moment of suspended negotiation between the viewer and the subject, between myth and memory. The apple here is not temptation, not sustenance but a question. The girl offers it not with hunger, but with calm certainty.

She exists in a world split between symmetry and illusion. The floating islands suggest possibility, but also isolation. The balloon might lift her or tether her.

This work is part of my ongoing inquiry into how women are framed as icons in constructed realities, and what happens when we hold our symbols too long.

Artist Statement:

“Port of Departure” is the first in a visual sequence exploring thresholds the psychic landscapes we traverse in moments of change.

This figure is not arriving. She is leaving something she has not yet named.

The red balloon and apple suggest childhood relics or symbolic warnings, while the aircraft and suitcase signify planned escape. Her feet are bare not because she forgot shoes, but because this is a place beyond shoes. You don’t walk here. You remember.

Set above clouds and framed by forgotten flowers, Port of Departure asks:

When do we stop dreaming of return, and start becoming the departure?

It is part of my ongoing series Atlas of Lucid Reverie.
