Had a lovely time at the Portrush airshow (see last post) which is held just a mile from where I Iive on the coast. I went for just the last hour as I wanted to see the Red Arrows in action and this was when they came roaring up behind us as they approached the bay.
I had this last in a set of four but it seems to be the shot that folks like best.
UPDATE Very chuffed this is the one airshow shot they showed on BBC Newsline weather pictures.
Red Arrow MBA582 (AML582H) seen with blinds for route 502. seen in Lambeth Palace Road during the year of the bus run.
Except for the Red Arrow route which they were suited to these buses were very unpopular with the public. They didn't like to have to stand as there were few seats, they didn't like to have to queue to pay before getting on. They didn't like the new fangled ticket machines, so didn't use them.
Airfix 1:72 kit of the RAF's 'Red Arrows'. One of many kits waiting for me to put my camera down and get on with!
The Red Arrows are the aerobatic display team of the Royal Air Force.
The team use the same two-seat training aircraft used for advanced pilot training by the RAF, at first the Folland Gnat, this aircraft, which was replaced in 1979 by the BAE Hawk.
Pictures of the current Red Arrows aircraft can be found in my album Aircraft - Clacton Air Show at :
