There are many people who dislike urban foxes. They have been blamed for biting babies and killing penguins at London Zoo, but others feed them and treat them like pets.
Foxes first colonised UK towns and cities in the 1940s and an estimated 33,000 now live in them, according to research by Bristol University. There are thought to be 16 per square mile in London alone.

Pretty soon the Red Yucca will make little round, green seed pods and still keep blossoming. It's a favorite to see on the Oso Creek Trail.
A quick recce today to Anglesey, I wasn't expecting to see these beauties and was pleasantly surprised to connect with them immediately. A typically cheesy hazelnut image, but I'll be back soon to nail a few motion shots.
One of a number of roadside businesses that must have fallen on hard times when this section of the A11 was by-passed. A few yards away a brutish, 1980s motel in biscuit-coloured brick stands fenced off from the road, used now for I know not what. A transport café perseveres, its vast rutted lorry park testifying to bygone prosperity. The road is wide and arrow-straight. Every ten minutes or so a housewife sets off for the Tesco in Newmarket, or the silence is broken by a tractor hauling sugar beets.
Actually, as far as I could see, Red Lodge is not an old place and must have grown up as a roadside settlement. It lived and died by the car.
