These CD's I have recycled from the library when they were cleared out last year. Now they are adorning my Nashi Pear tree trying to deter the parrots from eating the almost ripe fruit. As they blow in the wind and reflect the sun at odd times perhaps the movement is scary.
Lovely little containers made from recycled milk cartons (one open so you can see inside) sitting on my hat made from recycled PET bottles and a Fair Trade magazine holder.
Recycled from old Calor gas canisters & beer kegs, converted to B&W to add some menacing drama to the scene
For 120 pictures in 2020 #111 "Upcycled", This garden ornament is made from recycled scrap metal. It is fairly old and in desperate need of repainting, but it still stands ready to remove garden pests from our plants (this is an aloe vera our neighbor gave us - still need to make a proper garden plot for it).
Well in this instance , recycling !! Shot taken for Saturday Self Challenge 04/01/25 -- Seasonal !!
So here we are with a random shot of a recycling bin left out for the dustman after the Christmas festivities and obviously a seasonal bi-product is the amount of rubbish and recycling that is generated by many - next week it will be proper rubbish to be collected and I wonder how full to overflowing the black bins will be . I am glad to say as a rule my green bin is usually full but not overflowing and the black bin is usually no more than two thirds full or less . I did note this year that most folk left their bins out on the usual day only for it not to be collected !! There is always an alteration to collection times this time of the year so that the bin men get time off for the bank holidays !!
So for our music this week , it has to be a track from an album called " Recycler " !
First the electric version , then the wooden version from the film and then ZZ Top talking about playing on the film !!

So I was out running errands and spotted this! If I was a true recycler, I would have scooped it up to reuse- right?

During a visit to the Hawaiian island of Kauai, we decided to visit the Glass Beach. It seems that there is an old dump located somewhere nearby to this part of the island. The tide and surf continually bring new bits of sea-tossed glass on to the sparkling sand.
Some people seem to love collecting various bits of glass to take home as a souvenir. I decided a picture was worth a thousand words. :)
Back in the mid 80's I painstakingly knitted this for my eldest son. It became his favourite cardy, now it is being passed down to his son. It's a little big for him at the moment but he doesn't t seem to care & is as thrilled with it, as his dad was way back when!
Not great ideas for Smiling on Saturday, just a modest pot-holder made by me recycling an old shirt of my husband, an easy work thanks to the chequered design ;-)

Sorry, to me is very difficult to visit people that always only leave a fav without commenting...

This is one of several throw pillows that i made using old t-shirts. I made them a few years ago, as Chrisrmas gifts for relatives. This is the only one that i saved.

GBRf's 66783 The Flying Dustman is pictured passing South Acton with 5Q81 from Eastleigh to Wolverton. This was the second Class 442 move from Bournemouth with 73212 and 73213 acting as coupling translator vehicles.
The Class 442's were due to be brought out of storage and redeployed on the South Western Railway (SWR) network following a retractioning and refurbishment project, however problems with the units and the impact of the pandemic on passenger numbers has resulted in the cancellation of this plan. Instead, they are being taken to Wolverton works for component recovery for use in other SWR trains prior to disposal. The units moved on this occasion were 442402 and 442420.
As the intention is to recycle as many parts from these trains as possible it seems apt to have the Biffa liveried 66 involved in this move.
