The Carriage House at Rose Hill Mansion. Located just north of the mansion. The Carriage House is part of the original Robert Rose house of 1809 which was moved in 1838, fifty feet north of its original site when the Greek Revival mansion was constructed. The exterior color is the original color found under aluminum siding. On display are original "shin-bone tiles" made by John Johnston and excavated on his farm just south of Rose Hill where he introduced tile drainage into America. Also on display are examples of smaller horse-shoe tiles which were part of the 61 miles of tile drainage laid by Robert Swan on Rose Hill farm. In the center of the Carriage House is the "LaFayette" Carriage built by Henry Brewster of NYC c.1814, and belonged to Wm. S. DeZeng of Geneva. The Carriage house is the Reception Center for Rose Hill, and also houses a small gift shop. It is on the Rose Hill Mansion property on Route 96A in Geneva, NY.

Namgyal Middle Boarding School in 2000. Every morning the Tibetan refugee children at Namgyal Middle Boarding School sing and pray together in the schoolyard. In the house in the background you can see the Tibetan Reception Center.

At the Reception Center, all are Tibetan refugees that has arrived from Tibet in the last couple of weeks. They cannot stay in Nepal as Nepal does not anymore allow Tibetans to settle anymore. They will transfer to India at the latest a month after their escape from Tibet to Nepal. In India they will all first go to Dharamsala where they meet His Holiness the Dalai lama, who has made it his rule to greet all newly arrived refugees in person. First though, they stay here at the Reception center. They receive medical care for frostbites and injuries, dehydration and diarrhea, or whatever problems they have brought with them from the unimaginable flight across the world’s highest mountain range. They will be interviewed, both by the UNHCR – the United Nation’s High Commissioner for Refugees, and by personnel from the Central Tibetan Administration – more commonly known as the Dalai lama’s Government in Exile.

In each room at Bay Gardens Funeral Home the setting, decor and furniture placement are flexible. Our goal is to create the service that your family deserves and desires.

A smaller, more intimate visitation or service is common when the service is for someone either very elderly or very young. To this end we believe that smaller room sizes should be offered. Your visitation should feel intimate and not empty.

Each room is equipped with plasma screens to show the Tribute Life DVD created for your family. Each room also has it's own closet for guests coats. Across the hall is the coffee bar where tea, coffee, and other beverages are always on offer.
