US Consulate Toronto hosted the 3rd annual reception in celebration of US and Canadian Film Partnerships on September 14th, 2015 at The Spoke Club in Toronto. Held to create an opportunity for U.S. filmmakers and industry representatives to meet with their Canadian counterparts to discuss potential partnerships, this reception brought together the film industry leader and served as a platform for ideas exchange. In addition to the networking opportunities the reception provided between the U.S. and Canadian entertainment professionals, it served to honor the American Friends of TIFF, an independent U.S.-based non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the cultural, educational, and industry programming of TIFF, such as the Festival, major exhibitions, archives, and other activities of interest to American patrons.
Bruce Heyman, U.S. Ambassador to Canada, Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Michael Couteau, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Lisa de Wilde, Chair of TIFF’s Board of Directors and CEO of TVOntario, Kristine Murphy, Director, Industry Development Group, Ontario Media Development Corporation, Piers Handling, TIFF’s Director and CEO, Michele Maheux, TIFF’s Executive Director & COO, Cameron Bailey, TIFF’s Artistic Director, and many other honorable guests were greeted by the U.S. Consulate Toronto’s new Consul General Juan A. Alsace and his wife Nancy. Renowned industry executives from North America's three largest screen-based production centers: NYC, Los Angeles, and Toronto as well as representatives from Amazon Studios, HBO, Sony Pictures, Universal Studios, Netflix, and Cineplex also attended the event.

Reception for scholarship winners at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences, November 2013
Instead of a guestbook for the wedding reception, we made slambooks. It's something that was cool to do in my 5th grade class (so my 2 best friends from elementary school who attended totally got it!). Basically it's just a list of questions for people to answer, and we made some wedding/couple/love-themed. This was also an extra activity to do at the tables.
Here's the cover, and I just tied the pages together with ribbon.

The most prominent of the State Rooms is the Reception Hall, with its famed Czechoslovak chandeliers and a Renaissance-style panelled ceiling.

If there's no space in my regular office building, I have to work at the midtown location. I really like the interior there.
This room was the largest of the Palace before the 1979 renovation. It was created by Governor-General Francis Burton Harrison, who demolished bedrooms to create a spacious area. It was embellished with a vaulted ceiling and three Czechoslovakian chandeliers by President Quezon and totally rebuilt in 1979. Old photographs show presidents receiving guests close to the top of the Grand Staircase at New Year’s Day “at home” and other affairs.
