I RECALL when USA postage stamps had their cost on each stamp. That has been replaced by "FOREVER".
Thank you for taking the time to view my photo, and for the faves and comments you make, thank you.
I recall taking this photo a number of years ago and was pleased to see that it is still there!!

According to my notes, this power came in off of freight #50 from Kentville and switched the cars that would become the next train I would ride: overnight mixed #21 to Truro. Truro was a connection to the CNR mainline between Halifax and Montreal, and I recall reading of a time when the interchange between DAR and CNR was preferred at Truro instead of Windsor Junction (just out of Halifax.) In any case, the two CPR SW1200RS's - 8133 and 8137 - took our mixed to Truro and back to Windsor.
... thank you for your comments ...

i can't recall how many shots were stitched for this 2-row composite. 2:1 aspect ratio and 130 Mp.resolution of a6000 + Ricoh XR Rikenon 50mm f/1.7 prime.
I recall this day as though it was yesterday. It was the same day where we were treated to some first class cloud inversion on Ben Lawers. This shot was taken a little earlier in the day and shows me working up a steep snow gully on the east flank of An Stuc. This approach from Meall Garbh is extremely steep, exposed and loose. A choice has to be made to take the ridge, the snow or flit between the two. The vague outline of Lochan nan Cat can be made out at the top of this view.
Before anyone raises the point this was well before I possessed an ice axe.
I do not miss childhood, but I miss the way I took pleasure in small things, even as greater things crumbled. I could not control the world I was in, could not walk away from things or people or moments that hurt, but I took joy in the things that made me happy...

As you might recall, John and I used to monitor this colony in Alameda for San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory; we "retired" last year. But the other day we took a drive out to the colony to see if there were any nestlings left. August is always the tail end of the nesting season and the last of six survey months. We found this one large Great Egret chick still on its nest and as luck would have it, a parent bird flew in to feed it. Quite the struggle! Four shots. This tree and nest is quite a distance across the lagoon from where we stand, so the shots are not perfect, but you get the "picture"! The smaller bird to the bottom left of the second and third shots is a Snowy Egret. Although the Snowy is a good sized bird, you can see by comparison how large the Great Egret is ... wing span of nearly 6 feet.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊
While trying to recall the name of this interesting plant, I Googled the following words: "Plant related to the Pineapple" and there it was .... Bromeliaceae.
I don't recall ever seeing a sunset like this before. It was on Christmas Eve, 2019. There appeared to be more of a rainbow effect in the clouds.

I honestly can't recall how the idea of Royi came to my mind. I had the idea of using those angled parts for the crown as a skirt, but in the middle of the build I turned it into a crown and... It just happened, I guess.
The crown is a bit big, but I still like how it looks =D
You may recall my previous version of the 'Bolt. Well, I made it better. So there.
It's pretty much the Mech Racing equivalent to my IATTAR Goldfinch. I.e., all acceleration and handling. Not much else.
As always, I encourage my viewers to check out the Gallery.
That set of power that was on the southeast leg of the wye on the previous image has gone to (Hull Avenue?, I don't recall) and fetched a grain train. This Missouri Valley to Kansas City (Santa Fe connection) grainer has SD40-2's 6877, 6876 and GP38-2 4627 for power.

The Museum of Transport was holding what I recall was a Centenary of Coaching event on this occasion. Bullock's - themselves a significant coaching presence, of course - provided one of their new Dennis Tridents on a shuttle service to the Manchester Velodrome, where there were coaches on display.

For all the obvious reasons this will belong to a series of self-portraits named "Nidus". I want to be able to froze small pieces of my memories in this place I called home for as long as I remember, even before we called it our own. It's odd to be leaving, and sad at times. So I just want to have a reminder of a lot of those details for anytime I'll want to be back at it to be able to do so.
