I found this rebar stacked in an boat yard. I shot it at several angles and heights, I liked this one best. Thanks for looking!

Yes, that's San Francisco in the distance.

The bluffs along this section of the Lake Michigan shoreline are part of the Highland Park Moraine.

Moraines are very easily eroded by wave action during storms. Over the many years when this was an active military base, tons of riprap had been added to stabilize the shoreline. Many different types of materials had been used, including this concrete rubble (possibly obtained locally at very little cost) from some sort of demolition.

Since this material has been battered by endless waves over the years, the end result is that some areas have very swimmer-unfriendly exposed rebar.

Have a wonderful week!

A rebar sculpture of a stylized bird welcomes visitors to the Casa Taller Víctor Delfin in the Barranco arts district of Lima, Perú.

This is #11 in my rebar series.

There was an eerie calmness this evening at the construction site, giving no hint that in the morning it would be crawling with workers building a new tower.

I think it's done.

Another job site study shattered, scattered, and rippled into the realm of abstraction. This one with a touch of tarp, weathered wood, and Caterpillar for color.
