"In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes." Benjamin Franklin
This is an image I've been working on for some time now. I've always wanted to do some kind of grim reaper shoot, and a few weeks back all elements required came together: location & cloak were sourced, red smoke grenades purchased & a willing model found. David did an awesome job of modelling the reaper, and Jessica helped with all lighting and throwing of smoke grenades. Thank you both, it was so much fun!
Special tail "Grim Reapers" F-15C 86-0172 stands at RAF Lakenheath at an event marking the end of operations with 493rd Squadron. Many thanks to the Squadron and COAP for facilitating this opportunity to photograph the aircraft before it went back the the US.

This little grim reaper is the ninth figure I've made in a series of chubby little figs with giant shoulder pads. Check out the other figs in my photostream. And I'm going to make more of them. The basic design can be seen in this pic: www.flickr.com/photos/28192677@N06/3473321317/
I had to make some adjustments to that design for this one though, since all the pieces had to be black.
Harvest Reaper II of Castlebay berthed in Macduff Harbour. Not much known about this one but it is a fine looking example of a wooden hull twin rig prawn trawler. Red and white makes it even better to photograph, to my eyes anyway.
US Air Force F-15C Eagle ‘86-0159’ from the 493rd Fighter Squadron launching from RAF Lakenheath during a week of night ops, 22nd Sept 2021
The Reaper is a gunship-bomber hybrid, highly armed and heavily armoured. It was originally developed for the USEF but abandoned as too expensive. Several ex-USEF have co-opted the design for use in the lawless border worlds.
The ship is outfitted with several missile hardpoints as well a pair of 'doubletap' neutron cannons, specially designed to blow through Wun'Tux armour plating.
The grim reaper is from a halloween bowl that I purchased the other week. I then proceed this in Tonality with an eerie texture.
New shins. Thanks to Ventum for the base of their design. I'm going to add more trans-neon-green to them, but I just want a general opinion at the moment.
Then in the bright Sunshine I hiked north leaving the ancient gravelled processional trail to the chapel of Genooij on the right to traipse cow-byways along the verdant banks of the Meuse River. Just beyond the willows leaning over the River before you get to the Velden viaduct there's a rivulet. It's a half-shady spot with clumps of gleaming Yellow Flags (Iris pseudacorus), a variety of pretty Blue Forget-me-nots, lots of flowering grasses, Buttercups, Daisies, Purple Meadow Sage (Salvia pratensis), and many others. What's more, the main River Current speeds five or six metres away from the bank, leaving a nice placid spot for a dip. So who was I not to strip off and venture out as is my wont when I'm here in the Summer. But it was really too chilly to go in above my waist. So I warmed up in the Sun in a patch of Buttercups, Ranunculus acris, for lack, of course, of "a cowslip's bell".
There as I was idling, I saw this wonderful Stem Sawfly - one of those fantastic thin Wasps - foraging in a Buttercup. It's Calameuta filiformis. The 'filiformis' is clear, 'thread-formed', or perhaps ad sententiam 'like a needle'. Calameuta, I think, must be from one of the Theocritan bucolic poems in which various rustic professions are lauded among which Kalameutai (καλαμευταί), Harvesters or Reapers. And that was just what this Sawfly was doing however scytheless, while Your Photographer let his camera do its own work.
Global-1. Global-1 is a corparation who feeds off others like the great war. They go to mining colonys on remote astroids and planets to take control then sell both sides of the war recources they took forcefully. They have built themselves a army to take and protect the carupt operation they run. Other similiar corperations are the kuzlo corp and nik corp who also do simialar ways of obtaining wealth.
inspiration for the pic was furys pic of a certain stormtrooper.
The carnival here in Tripunithra, a town close to Cochin in Kerala, India.
It is an amazing and overpowering mix of religious themes and symbolism. A part of the Onam Festival in Kerala this grand procession is called "Athachamayam"
This shot of the "Grim Reapers" body painted in Black and White with the Scythes on their shoulders, is a mid day kind of shot.

...the Reaper.
Listening to: Don't Fear The Reaper
All our times have come
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain..we can be like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper
Baby take my hand...don't fear the reaper
We'll be able to fly...don't fear the reaper
Baby I'm your man...
Valentine is done
Here but now they're gone
Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity...Romeo and Juliet
40,000 men and women everyday...Like Romeo and Juliet
40,000 men and women everyday...Redefine happiness
Another 40,000 coming everyday...We can be like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper
Baby take my hand...don't fear the reaper
We'll be able to fly...don't fear the reaper
Baby I'm your man...
Love of two is one
Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn't go on
Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared...saying don't be afraid
Come on baby...and she had no fear
And she ran to him...then they started to fly
They looked backward and said goodby...she had become like they are
She had taken his hand...she had become like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper

I know a lot of people don't really care for bugs but I have a fascination with these little guys.... for some unknown reason. I like that fuzzy little face with those big eyes.
I never really liked bugs very much (and especially spiders !) until a few years ago when I began taking their picture. Something about being able to really see them changed how I felt. My pictures are not as clear as I wished they were but maybe one day when I push the shutter button they will be. :)
This is a Robber Fly AKA an Assassin Fly. They catch their prey in midair... bees, flies, wasp, etc. They do not sting but can bite if handled roughly. Their wings make a loud buzzing sound when they fly by. They are pretty tolerant to having a camera near them.

REAPER 22 slowing down after touchdown on 16R at Alliance Airport in perfect late afternoon light. - 65-10361 - T-38A - 13th Bomb Squadron - Whiteman AFB, MO
One of my recent spacecraft. The renders turned out great, but I need to get a render with the rear gun popped up. Part of my initial upload.
I had randomly thought of the idea to make him because of the new skull shapes, I figured it would actually work for him, however I had to sculpt the hood for him to make one that would fit and you can take off too. I think I did a good job on him mostly, I just wish I had a more accurate piece for his scythe.
