This is the original office of the Hollywoodland Realty Company (as it looks today) which is the company who built the Hollywoodland sign in 1923 - 97 years ago. Then, in 1927, when they were going to tear it down, the city of Hollywood said, “Please don't tear it down, let us have it." So, the realty Company gave the city the sign and they tore off the "land" part of the sign, so it only said Hollywood and that's how the Hollywood sign was born. The Hollywoodland Realty Co. is still operating in the same office, today.

I was out shooting a test roll of film in my "new" Olympus XA2, and looking for interesting things around town to photograph. I came across this awesome mural on the side of this realty office and I knew I had to get a picture of it! It depicts a view of the valley, with happy families driving around town in their cars with advertisements for local businesses, and of course the famous Arrowhead landmark on the San Bernardino Mountains.

One thing I've really noticed while taking pictures is that there is a LOT of undiscovered talent in San Bernardino. I've come across so many interesting paintings like this, which you would never see until you really start to spend more time driving and walking around town and paying more attention to less traveled side streets. This is more than just advertisement...someone (or maybe a group of people) spent a lot of time with this and to me, it really shows a lot of artistic talent.

So far, my Olympus XA2 seems to be a really cool little camera. The pictures are sharp, with good color and contrast. It does have a tendency to underexpose a little, but that might be because it needs a new battery.

28 Liberty Street, formerly known as One Chase Manhattan Plaza, is a 60-story International style skyscraper in the Financial District of Manhattan in New York City, between Nassau, Liberty, William, and Pine Streets. The building was designed by Gordon Bunshaft, of the firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), and consists of a stainless steel facade with black spandrels below the windows. Opened in 1961, it is 813 feet (248 m) tall.

28 Liberty Street, on the northern half of a 2.5-acre (1.0 ha) site, consists of 60 above-ground stories, a ground-level concourse, and five basement levels. A plaza that surrounds the tower includes a sunken Japanese rock garden designed by Isamu Noguchi. The building's design is similar to that of SOM's earlier Inland Steel Building in Chicago.

David Rockefeller, Chase's executive vice president, proposed the tower in the 1950s as a means to keep the newly merged Chase Manhattan Bank within Lower Manhattan while merging its 8,700 employees into one facility.[1] Construction started in early 1957, and though the tower opened in early 1961, the basements and plaza were not opened until 1964. Despite some early challenges, One Chase Manhattan Plaza was nearly fully occupied from its opening, with numerous financial and legal tenants. The building was renovated in the early 1990s, and Chase moved its headquarters in 1997. The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission designated the building a landmark in 2008. Chase Manhattan's parent company JPMorgan Chase sold the building to Chinese investment company Fosun in 2013; the building was subsequently renamed 28 Liberty Street.

The Trinity Building, designed by Francis H. Kimball and built in 1905, with an addition of 1907, and Kimball's United States Realty Building of 1907, located respectively at 111 and 115 Broadway in Manhattan's Financial District, are among the first Gothic-inspired skyscrapers in New York, and both are New York City designated landmarks. The Trinity Building, adjacent to the churchyard of Richard Upjohn's neo-Gothic Trinity Church, replaced an 1853 Upjohn structure of the same name. Earlier, the Van Cortlandt sugar house stood on the west end of the plot – a notorious British prison where American soldiers were held during the Revolutionary War.

Die Trinity and U.S.
