I was thinking today about how much I’ve been obsessing about getting “the shot” and how that has effected my memory and experiences. I think that this obsession has effected the way I go about things, instead of enjoying the day for its natural beauty and the pure experience of it I’m always seeking the perfect exposure. So today during the sunset [that you see the tail end of here] I just sat and watched instead of worrying about f-stops and composition. During this time the sun had already gone below the horizon but the bridge was lit with what looked like alpenglow, it looked to be on fire, it was tremendous. I’m sure it would have made for a brilliant exposure, but since I’m not doing this for a living I can afford to miss one of those every now and again.

Bacon sandwich at Starbucks.

For a couple of weeks I'd imagine that this would work. 2 pallets from the lumber yard, plywood stored in the playhouse, bricks and blocks I found in the garden and under the house. Just needed some help to move things into place and fasten it all together.

n. the realization that the plot of your life doesn’t make sense to you anymore—that although you thought you were following the arc of the story, you keep finding yourself immersed in passages you don’t understand, that don’t even seem to belong in the same genre—which requires you to go back and reread the chapters you had originally skimmed to get to the good parts, only to learn that all along you were supposed to choose your own adventure.

I played a Capstan Shafts record for my 14 year old sister, her comment sums up why I like the band beyond the point of all reason:

Know the difference between a 'guru' (teacher/preacher) and a 'gnani' (the enlightened One). Know the qualities of a true guru and a gnani in order to identify them when they come your way. The two have very different virtues. A gnani is free from anger, pride, deceit and greed. And a gnani is One who has experienced His true Soul and enables others also to do so. A true gnani is in no need of money/ disciples/respect etc... He is above all material things.

In the Self Realization ceremony you can realize the answer to "Who am I?" This supports you to become one with the eternal Soul, giving a direct connection within.
