This realization came from Orwell’s switch in roles at the BBC from 1941 to 1943, from a Talks Assistant in the Empire Department to a Talks Producer for its India Section. As a producer, he expanded and improved distance education programs aimed at English literature students at Bombay and Calcutta universities. To this end, he recruited high-profile speakers such as T. S. Eliot, E. M. A floating feather in the mighty wind,
A little spark in the huge sacrificial fire ---
A grain of sand in the sprawling sea-shore --
A peck of dust in the grand universe!
Still you have the grace to reside within me
The cosmic macro within this tiny micro !
And manifest yourself in me in several ways --
Through kind thoughts, loving words and righteous action
That emanate from this iota of human existence!!
(These are my own random thoughts)
