lorisezhi: Cool how you caught them both with their mouths open and staring at each other. How do you get such nice shots without the subjects knowing and ruining it? Don't say "years of practice."
thephilosopherstoned: Well Lori @lorisezhi ,without seeming overly modest, I have a great camera which has a tilting screen which means I can be looking down while taking pictures, instead of looking at the subject, so people are often totally unaware I am photographing them. Also the camera has a moderate zoom lens on it, meaning I don't have to get really close ( which would give the game away). Some street photographers think using a zoom lens is cheating, I think - use whatever you need to get the shots you want. Also I've been involved with photography for 40 years, so, unfortunately, I'm going to have to say it - years of practice - sorry!

I captured this shot back in 2019, but I recently revisited it to give it a fresh "Fine Art" edit.
I really wanted to emphasize his regal pose and the intense look in his eyes. The goal was to separate him from the background using some specific lighting adjustments (dodge & burn), giving him that "3D pop."
It's always amazing how elegant cheetahs look, even when they're just chilling.
