I find it so interesting, a metaphor—this plant that I could not manage to keep alive, that still hangs here long after the life has gone out of it because I can’t even find the energy to get rid of it, became so captivating and beautiful to me in the golden sunset light.

One of the first self portraits I took after hand surgery (bandage on right hand) this past February. I was waiting in the car while my daughter was at orchestra. Really missed using my cameras during surgery recovery and was so thankful to be able to start photographing with something other than my phone.

The film broke and came completely out of the canister inside my camera. Guessing slight light exposure when removing the film from the camera in a mostly dark room resulted in the red spots on the lower part of the frame.
I can't explain this photo other than to say... yum.
I froze them for about 10-20 mins, I lost count... and had an icy snack.
Now, it's off to bed to read. xo

Looking for light

Recently, one afternoon I was struggling so intensely I couldn’t function and was lying on the couch. Eventually I managed to open my eyes as I was lying there and noticed the light shining on the binding of this Botanical photo book (a gift from my husband and children) that was among some photo zines, a book I’m reading, my sketchbook, my notebook I write in daily and essential oils. I felt compelled to capture what I saw but was struggling so much I couldn’t even go get my camera. A little while later I managed to ask one of my children to bring me my camera and captured this ordinary moment that was extremely helpful for me. After taking some pictures of this I managed to get up. I found seeing this light and capturing it with my camera to be more helpful than I ever imagined it might be.
in the heart of paris, on a quiet corner of rue du bac, two workers take a brief respite from their daily routine. framed in the golden light of the afternoon, smoke swirls around them, creating a dreamy haze that contrasts with the crispness of their black uniforms. the scene feels almost timeless—a shared moment of calm amidst the bustling city streets. the way the light and shadow play on their faces adds depth to the image, bringing out the contemplative expressions of each figure, making you wonder what thoughts linger behind the smoke.
Beauty in the mundane — Just some bread crumbs one of my children left on the table. I thought it was so fascinating that one of the crumbs appeared to be shaped like a heart.

My son eating some leftovers he warmed up in the oven for lunch. I found it quite funny that he ate his lunch wearing an oven mitt—my children sure do keep me entertained.
