Ally Financial and GMAC were the last to receive the all-clear to move forward with foreclosures within New Jersey. August home prices rose just slightly by .1%, a figure that Zillow’s chief economist, Stan Humphries, says is essentially flat. The year over year figure remains 4.5% below the prices of 2010.

The Treasury Department has decided to continue withholding Making Home Affordable incentives from Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase because of lack of progress in meeting requirements for borrower outreach, evaluation and reporting. Wells Fargo was at the same time upgraded as having made “moderate improvements” and will now receive incentive payments for handling its distressed homeowner cases in a more timely and appropriate manor.

The Mortgage Bankers Association published its “First Look” at mortgage delinquency data for the 3rd quarter this past week. The MBA found that seasonally adjusted rates fell to 7.99% of all outstanding loans, a drop of 45 basis points compared to the previous quarter, the largest drop in delinquencies of one to four unit properties since the 4th quarter of 2008. The drop is actually 1.14% lower than the delinquency rate a year ago.
