There's always magic when we read a book, sitting on the couch we get to travel with our books, in space and time. You learn you grow, you cry and you laugh...
Today I visited the lovely winter sim Snowdrops , Karen's sim are always gorgeous and full of details I love to find. I'm not ready yet for winter in RL, but I must admit I loved exploring the place and finding this little nook to read and relax with a good book on this grey Sunday.

In quiet halls where whispers blend,
A treasure trove where journeys end,
A world of wonder, shelf by shelf,
A place to find your truest self.
Between the pages, magic lies,
A thousand tales before your eyes,
From ancient scrolls to modern lore,
A library opens every door.
Silent sentinels of thought,
Guardians of the knowledge sought,
In every book, a story lives,
A gift that every volume gives.
The scent of paper, ink, and time,
A symphony in prose and rhyme,
Within these walls, both great and small,
All minds may wander, free for all.
In corners tucked with cozy chairs,
A refuge from the world’s affairs,
Where dreams take flight, and minds expand,
In this vast sea of book-lined land.
The echoes of the ages past,
With every turn, a spell is cast,
A haven for the curious mind,
In every library, treasures find.
So step inside, explore, ignite,
In every book, a beacon light,
For knowledge, wisdom, joy, and peace,
In libraries, all wonders cease.
📷The Photo was Shot in Filoli, also known as the Bourn-Roth Estate, is a country house set in 16 acres of formal gardens surrounded by a 654-acre estate, located in Woodside California, about 25 miles south of San Francisco, at the southern end of Crystal Springs Reservoir, on the eastern slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Under the library’s concentric skylight, rows of crime novels frame a quiet study nook where a lone reader works. Warm timber shelves, a patterned acoustic ceiling and the circular mezzanine create a modern, intimate atmosphere. This City of Perth Library interior blends civic architecture with everyday learning — a calm urban refuge for readers, students and curious minds.
Stopped to rest up after the RoseHaven Party and get started on my weekend shopping adventure.
Remember those fast multiplying fluffy Star Trek critters? This chair from Sources reminds me of a cross between those and a shag carpet on steroids...and I LOVE it!
Thought I would have to choose one, NOPE...you get a color HUD. This 4 Land Impact PG version, is on the Wanderlust Weekend Sale for 50 Lindens.
It will be multiplying in my stilt home (reading nook), mer home (sea anemone seat), and even a tree house (nest), lol! How about you?

At the end of the day, Maleficent retreats to her cozy corner in the castle to wind down with her favourite book and a glass of wine.

aka Dining Room...where I don't eat.
It seemed far more important for me to use this space for my books and not a table at which to eat.
I can't help but leave that damn pink bunny there. I sort of love him. I might have to move him into the bedroom, though, just to keep the silliness at bay.
I have a nice living room slash "library", but tend to prefer to read in this little nook. The light is fabulous and I can concentrate much better here.
And those books you see? ...that's my to-be-read "pile".
*hangs head in shame*
I'm reading Barbara Kingsolver's The Poisonwood Bible at the moment.
And yes, IKEA all over :P

I've included a base in this shot to show that it w=fits within a 12x12 footprint.

This reading nook has chic wall design, bold colors, and perfect natural lighting for reading and relaxing.
This is my (mostly finished) reading nook. I like it more than the original at IKEA. Mine has more pillows, the curtains are a color, I have a little table, and space to keep my books that I'm reading. I also think the colors are nicer and more vibrant. Total cost: about $350 or $400. It only took a day (and really, most of that time was spent at IKEA.) Installing the light took about an hour, and putting up the curtain took about an hour.
I seriously doubt life could get better than this little reading nook ... especially when it's dark and gray and wet outside. A cup of coffee and a log in the stone fireplace ... Today the weather was perfect ...
