The IJsselbrug connects over the IJssel between Zwolle and Hattem. A few hundred meters next to this bridge is also the New IJsselbrug the A28 and a railway bridge on the railway Utrecht - Zwolle.

On October 4, 1947 reopened the Minister of Public Works and Reconstruction, Ir. H. Fox, IJsselbrug. The bridge was opened in 1930, during the war destroyed twice: the first time by the Dutch army to hinder the German advance (May 1940), the second time by the German army in order to make it difficult Allied troops continue to march (1945).

The IJsselbrug since 1999 monument. Foundation Arch Bridge in Vianen straining to get this bridge on the World Heritage List.

When a flock of geese takes off it resembles a chain reaction leading to an explosion of wings. A nearby eagle triggers the snow geese into the air.

Ana's reaction: (i love her poetry!):

she had a frontier made of glass.

sometimes she feels

she could arrive

she doesn't have sure

i believe

she must arrive

I'm over that allergic reaction now but I'm still very tired.

The trumpet flower (Campsis radicans) is a real eye-catcher in the garden. The long tendrils of this climbing shrub are overloaded in August-September with large deep-red, trumpet-shaped flowers.

This was the best example of recurrsion that I could come up with as I wasn't exactly sure what recurrsion actually is.

2 chicks tread a bare line in darkness,

Puffs of dust waiting in the nebula

For the spark of another

The one who spins from the heat

A purple, glittering gas

with X ray feathers that beat

Fumbling over the first, beak

Locked like a missile for the second

Target, a growing, reactive star.

Mum always did prefer the second.

Previously unpublished archive image from April 2019. I am fairly certain that I kept this shot simply for the reaction of the woman on right of frame - priceless. Enjoy!

Stunning views of Melk from Melk Abbey

The town lies on the edge of the Wachau, a part of the Danube valley where a lot of viticulture takes place and which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

During the winter and rainy summers, Melk can be submerged by high water levels in the Danube.

In the 19th century there were three times very high water levels. In 2013, parts of Melk were also under water. Unlike elsewhere in the Wachau, no metal wall had been built up in Melk to block the water.

Just imagine the pre-planning before they even get to the site...then the huge amount of hours and equipment that is needed to construct these very large buildings. It is also very good for people having jobs. I had a fantastic time shooting this site and most importantly to me the fabulous reflections in the glass, crane and all.

Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.

Thanks a bunch for all the support! 😁

My party piece, a rock and a splashing wave, mind you this was not an easy ask on this clam morning. My aim was to catch the light through the splash but most of the waves rippled round the rock, when I did get a splash my timing was sadly out to only catch an engulfed rock, as impress as that looks it was not what I was after. However with persistence I got my image. My input will be spasmodic for most of July as I will be in Royston waiting for the new grandchild. I’m taking my laptop so I may post from time to time and with many a walk around the summer fields and tree lined paths I hope for some new images. So it’s goodbye till then but I’m sure I’ll be entertained by your lovely photos.
