The beeping noise the coffee maker makes when finishing a pot was driving its resident owners bonkers, so I cut one of the wires to a piezo-electric speaker responsible for the rawkus!
Note the ROYGBIV-sequenced rainbow connector. Perhaps that year of electronics engineering before comp.sci has justified itself. ;)

At a time when hip-hip has lost its glamor and voice, Emcee Pharoahe Monch has continued to raise the bar on performing and writing music with a purpose. His latest disc “W.A.R” (We Are Renegades) proves one that he doesn’t have to affiliated with a major record label to stay current. Two, if your music fans dig what your saying that they speak truth in numbers at his shows as well as online. “W.A.R’ is selling extremely well on i Tunes and features the likes of vocalist Jill Scott and Emcee Jean Grae. His latest video “Clap,” about the way the police department and other law enforcement agencies have and continue to use excessive force against minorities and people of color. The 10 minute video has received lots of hits on You Tube and is a hit on MTV.
Born Tory Donald Jamerson in Queens, New York, the Emcee’s rise in hip-hop goes back to the early 1990’s when he and Prince Poetry formed the group Organized Konfusion. The duo produced three underground classic albums including the self titled debut “Organized Konfusion,” “Stress: The Extinction Agenda,” and “The Equinox.” Their music fused some rock, elements of hip-hop, and lyrics that were often ahead of their time.
After the group broke-up in 1998, Pharoahe recorded the landmark “Internal Affairs” on the Rawkus label. It was his time to shine as a budding Emcee as well as show the world his concept as a musician with a purpose. The disc spawned the hip-hop anthem “Simon Says.” He also recorded tracks and was featured on “Soundbombing II” and the “Lyricist Lounge” compilations. His second disc “Desire” was released on Motown Records and was success amongst his underground following.
Although Pharoahe’s only recorded three solo projects in a span of 12 years proves that he’s not one to mass produce his music to generate sales. Along with the added notoriety of being a indie artist, his work and his art haven’t gone in vain. Pharaohe continues to sell-out venues overseas and is well connected to his fans online.
Look out for Pharoahe to take to the stage this upcoming fall. To order his latest disc “W.A.R” or to find out his upcoming tour dates, please visit him on line at www.pharoahe.com. To watch the video “Clap” in its entirety click on to the link www.youtube.com/watch?v=VG_iDZbSZ3I

Sentinels is trialing different Valorant coaches with the hope of signing one soon, Dot Esports reported Tuesday.
The North American organization released Shane "Rawkus" Flaherty in late February. He was with Sentinels on loan from FaZe Clan, but the two organizations ran into issues when negotiating a buyout for Rawkus.
Rawkus later said he wants to return to the competitive scene as a player, not a coach.
According to Dot Esports, Sentinels most recently practiced with Luis "iRemiix" Galarza Figueroa, an Overwatch player from Puerto Rico. He has been listed as retired since 2019.
Sentinels is currently in second place in Group B at VALORANT Champions Tour: North America Stage 1 Challengers.

Jill Morris is an AWESOME young lady! She really came through for me in a number of ways on this trip and I’m so grateful for that. As you can see, she’s not too shabby behind the camera either. She accompanied me to the Gorge and while I carried around the XTi, she wielded the SD400 like a pro. She said “Oh I’ve got to shoot the photographer doing his thing!”
Thanks Jill!

apparently another group of cruisers unwilling to give up the party. A really rawkus event with the Cruise Director (woof!), John. Guys and girls were just on stage trying to switch clothing for this part of the contest. Hilarious! Happy to see some bawdy entertainment on the ship :-)
The fans at this end were a bit rawkus. The opposition keeper, who was hopeless lost his rag with them a few times, adding much comedy to this scrappy game
Dante Terrell Smith (born December 11, 1973)[1] is an Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated American actor and a Grammy-nominated MC known by the stage name Mos Def. Mos Def started his hip hop career in a group called Urban Thermo Dynamics, after which he appeared on albums by Da Bush Babees and De La Soul. With Talib Kweli, he formed the duo Black Star, who released the album Black Star in 1998. He was a major force in the late 1990s underground hip hop explosion spearheaded by Rawkus Records. As a solo artist he has released the albums Black on Both Sides in 1999, The New Danger in 2004, True Magic in 2006, and The Ecstatic in 2009.[1]
Initially recognized for his musical output, Mos Def's screen work since the early 2000s has established him as one of only a handful of rappers who have garnered critical approval for their acting work. Mos Def has also been active on several social and political issues and was particularly vocal in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
The only reason I bought the book was just for this image. LOVE.

She began spinning out when she moved back to Los Angeles in 2004 and rocked parties like the infamous Root Down and Soul Sessions. Now residing in SF, she has since played alongside cutting edge artists such as Daz-i-Kue, 45 King, Talib Kweli, Exile, DJ Spinna and more. I was thinking of a mask.
I didn't have any so I stuck with make up.
I think I was subconsciously trying to channel Karen O.
[yes. that is one of the fellers from the Rolling Stones on the wall behind me. It's a framed poster of the "Black and Blue" record cover. Man, Jagger was hot back in that day..]
