Now we're going to add some new layers. Go to Layers>New Raster Layer. A window will pop open asking you what settings you'd like on the layer. Just click OK. A new, empty layer (Raster 1) will appear in the Layer Palette.

Select the Flood Fill Tool (Paint Bucket) from the Tools. Use a grey color (I used #595959) to fill in the new layer. Change Raster 1's Blend Mode to Lighten with an Opacity of 47%

Repeat steps 1&2 to create Raster 2. Fill this layer with a dark blue (#0b173b) and change the Blend Mode to Exclusion. Leave the Opacity at 100%.

Create a third new layer, Raster 3. Use a light pink (#fad8f1) to fill it in. Change its Blend Mode to Dodge. Opacity=15%.

This design started with a pencil sketch which was inked with India Ink, then scanned into and manipulated with Photoshop. It is four colors and designed for standard silk screening. www.canyontough.com

this is a cropped version of Pete atop a pillar. the theory was that he might appear to be flying in a supermanly way with the pillar cropped out.

i think, with that look of bitter determination, that the effect looks more like an imminent assault on the photographer.

i will see if i can insert some air under Pete later this week...
