inspired by Cathryn's vector drawings, I decided to give it a try. Not the result that I had intended, and I spent 10 or 12 hours on it, still not totally happy with it... tey're a better looking couple than my drawing makes them look!

Interpretation: "Die Fotografie zeigt eine moderne Glasfassade als streng gegliedertes Raster aus rechteckigen Fenstern. Die serielle Wiederholung der Module erzeugt zunächst den Eindruck architektonischer Stabilität und Ordnung. In den Glasflächen spiegeln sich jedoch die Linien eines gegenüberliegenden Gebäudes, die sich über die orthogonale Struktur der Fassade legen. Die scheinbaren Diagonalen gehören somit nicht zur Konstruktion selbst, sondern entstehen allein aus den Reflexionen der Umgebung. Dadurch verschiebt sich die Wahrnehmung des Baukörpers: Die Fassade erscheint weniger als feste architektonische Form denn als Oberfläche, auf der sich die Stadt visuell einschreibt. Architektur wird hier zur Membran, die ihre Umgebung aufnimmt und in ein komplexes Geflecht aus Struktur und Bewegung verwandelt. Einen überraschenden Kontrapunkt bildet im unteren rechten Bildbereich der farbige Kopf einer Giraffenskulptur. Mit seinen kräftigen Gelb-, Blau- und Rottönen unterbricht er die kühle Rationalität der Glasarchitektur und führt ein Moment spielerischer Irritation in die strenge Bildordnung ein."
