Winter at the so-called "Irreler waterfalls", which are really only a few rapids.

Winter an den sogenannten "Irreler Wasserfällen", die eigentlich nur ein paar Stromschnellen sind.

White water at the Isar near Unterföhring. These are "artificial" rapids - a 1920s weir at this place was demolished for environmental reasons, now the 4 m height difference are in form of these rapids.

The treacherous hornby Rapids. This seemingly impossible sandstone wall was said to be inspiration for some of M C Escher's famous drawings (although the source of this rumour is unreliable).

Quite cold, misty and frosty afternoon.

(Paolo Rumiz)

"The Po changes its sound depending on its position. It's a quiet murmur in the quiet passages, especially in the hidden meanders. It becomes a thunder where it narrows into a channel. When you stretch out to sleep on the bank at night, it sounds massive from the water like a double bass and that accompanies you all night. And finally, its sounds turn into a concert when it branches out into many arms towards the end, it becomes a symphony, feeling the closeness of the sea and the influence of the tide."

Right after the rain stops, BNSF 1832 West pulls up to a stop signal at West Chub Lake (Carlton, MN). This 60-car Rapids Turn would hold here for a meet with a UKEEALL "dock train" and then proceed west to work Cloquet and Grand Rapids. By the time they met the taconite load and got the light here, more clouds filled in and the light wasn't nearly as good.

The other day we drove down to Elk Rapids to a Walk in the Park. Nice to be out side too. Packed a lunch and although it was cool we sat in the car had lunch and enjoyed this view.

A very cold and cloudy day at Brúarfoss in autumnal colors.

A small waterfall known for its striking color, sometimes being called "Iceland’s Bluest Waterfall." It's within the Golden Circle area in South Iceland, the waterfall drops into a crevice running through dark volcanic rock, creating sky-blue rapids contrasting with the surrounding yellow leaves.

GPS might not the exact point of this photo.

Have a nice day everyone! ❤️

Fast moving water and rapids just below Nymph Falls in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island.

It was nice to see some bats flitting around me as I walked down to the stream before sunrise this morning. I struggled to find strong images, but did quite like this one, taken as some of the trees started to be hit by the early sun.

A early morning sunrise capture of the rapids before the falls at Many Glacier Lodge in Glacier National Park (US).

Spotted this the other day when we were heading for Traverse City. I thought they have done such a nice job decorating as you come into town.
